Good price, good location but hot room
We stayed there total of 3 nights, first 2 nights the room they placed us was way too hot!! And we went down stair to talk to the front desk twice, they told us that because it is central air so either they have to turn on the heater or air conditioning. So they had the heat on that earlier afternoon, now they just turned it off so the room will get better. But room did not get better, our window was all foggy and water all over the window area like staying in a sauna. We wanted to switch room but they insist it's not room problem. It's the central air problem. So we checked out after 2 days and went to ibusuki for a day then came back to check in for 1 last day, we got a different room this time, and the room temperature was much better than the previous room we got. So clearly the room we got the 1st 2 nights, the air conditioning was broken and they did not once believe us and just stood there saying there is nothing they can do and ask us to wait. Honestly, the flexibility in Japan is not good at all, they listen politely but won't fix problem for you. Very disappointed. Other than that hotel was easy to find, good location, close to the station, good for the price. But room is way to hot. I hope they fix it for the future customers.

Short stay review
Location, location, location
Despite arriving at dusk in a downpour, the hotel was easy to find, a short distance from Kagoshima Chuo ekimae. The staff was very efficient and the room was clean, although there was a bit of mildew smell. Bed was comfortable and everything was as expected in the REI chain. Plenty of good restaurants in the area within walking distance. Very convenient to the tram.

Kagoshima Tokyu Inn
great room, great location, great value
I really liked this hotel - excellent value for money. Very close to the main train station and also the city centre, trams, river, bars and restaurants. Spotlessly clean, well maintained rooms, everything you would hope for as a traveler really - good bathroom, comfortable bed, nice view... spot on really. Had a great time in Kagoshima!

Location, staff and clean rooms.
Great hotel. Clean rooms and clean bathrooms. Good internet signals and good breakfast. Sufficient breakfast. Strong shower pressure and location is just great. Very convenient. Plenty of taxis. And easy to get to the train and bus station. Eating places and cafes are plenty. Bed is also comfortable. Highly recommended.

Very enjoyable
Great location, close to shops & restaurants, comfortable beds
Enjoyable stay. I'd stay there again. Close to airport bus, train station and shops. Great selection of restaurants close by. Close to trams & public bus. Child friendly.

Very comfortable rooms and convenient location
Comfort & Location
This hotel is conveniently located between the Chuo Train/Bus station and the main shopping area Tenmonkan. We easily walked between the two, but you could also use the tram to get between them. There was a lot of shopping and restaurants in the area. It was also very easy to get to other places since the main bus station is just a few minutes down the street. Despite being in the middle of things, the hotel was very quiet and comfortable. The room was a nice size for a 2 person twin. Also, in Japan hotel beds tend to be brick hard with awful pillows, but the beds were very nice and the pillows were amazing. The only down size was that the weather was a little warmer than usual for the season but they had already switched over to heat so the room was a little warmer than I would have liked. But, all in all, it was a great hotel and I'd definitely stay here again in the future.

Excellent hotel for business or sightseeing
Location, cleanliness, restaurants next to the hotel
Perfect hotel to stay in Kagoshima. It's a very short walk from the bus station (airport bus) or the train station. You have a tram station (and buses too) right in front of the hotel. Rooms are standard Japanese size but spotlessly clean. Staff is efficient and friendly, not everybody speaks very good English but there's always somebody around to talk to. Next door there's a fantastic restaurant area called Yataimura where you can eat and drink your heart out. And it's only a few minutes away by tram from the Tenmonkan shopping area. Can't get better for the price.
