Good but the owner very keen on selling overpriced services, e.g. haggle when they order a tricycle for you. Calm place, felt safe.

Just OK

The people working there are really nice and friendly. Breakfast is just fine, place is quiet.
The place is over priced for what it is: a messy and dirty garden. The huts are clean, but there were flees in one of our beds.. The local people who run it are very very kind and helpful though. I hope you guys will make the place better... It's hot potential.

Best view in Palawan! Authentic Filipino stay

Location, Good Service, Serenity/Calmness
Kalinga offers an authentic Filipino accommodation in cottages/bungalows with the most amazing views of El Nido's many islands. The location is excellent - only about 5 minutes (by tricycle, which the resort offers a complimentary tricycle service) or 10 minutes (walking) from the center of town. Because it's away from the bustle of the awl Nido center, it's very calm, relaxing, and quiet throughout the day and night. Breakfast is included and very good for the price of the resort. Lots of food options nearby, especially Antonio's down the street. There's a local canteen across the road with snacks, drinks, and essentials (shampoo, soap, bug repellent, etc). The service was great... Alma was a great help with scheduling tours, getting bottled water, getting a tricycle, etc. Everyone at the resort, staff and fellow resort patrons, were very friendly. Setting up island hopping tours was very simple because the resort has its own tour company and boat. So you simply pick the tour you want, and get into the boat several feet away. Overall, it was an excellent stay for the price that I paid. You have to keep in mind that this resort offers authentic accommodations. Yes, there are dogs roaming around (but we're in the Philippines and anywhere you go, there will be roaming dogs). They're friendly. Sometimes the power will go out but it's across the neighborhood and town, not just the resort (again, were in the Philippines). I highly recommend this resort and I will be sure to go back and stay there the next time I'm in Palawan. Thank you for the amazing stay and experience Kalinga!

Great view over decent breakfast

The best is sunset view from breakfast area
We were not lucky since due to some misunderstanding between Agoda and Resort we had to stay first night in other place that was more like 3rd world jail than any kind of hotel. Once we got finally our cottage in Kalinga they did all to make up for this first night trouble and view from the brakfest area is amazing in the morning and in the evening. But you have to know that not every tricycle goes there (the only entry road in direction of Kalinga is very narrow) and to get there you maybe forced to walk for around 15min where part of it is next to local cementary and other parts are not covered by public light what maybe not nice when it gets dark.

Worst Location

Only one staff is friendly.
Never expected that there's no service from the resort and you need to walk around 15mins from the town and the worst is that you have to pass by the cemetery before you reach the resort. A bit scary. The food is not bad but the "tapsilog" is supposedly fried rice and not plain rice. the room is fine but I got a lot of small mosquito bites.

Value for money but far from the town proper

The hotel manager was very friendly and was always there to attend to our needs
Overall good! Free breakfast, good internet connection, comfortable stay at a low price. Only downside was it's far from the town proper and the road to the place was dark at night. Tricycles also refuse to bring us all the way to the hotel but you can make arrangements for pickup and drop off if you contact the manager.

A nice retreat

Location (away from noise),Nice cottages & Staff
Kalinga was a pleasant surprise as i was expecting a mediocre place. You're a little way out from the main beach bars (about 15 mins walk) but, the quietness and resort feel was much appreciated.Special mention to Annie-our; go to staff member.

Room fee 4x higher during Chinese New Year

location, comfort, atmosphere
Besides the fact that we paid a ridiculous price compared to their regular fee during the Chinese New Years, the stay was quite pleasant. Great location, right next to the beach, big rooms, comfortable beds, but like almost everywhere, no hot showers. Also, no possibility to server lunch or dinner there, so you need to go in town for that.

Really nice stay

Owner lady, nice view, safe
The bast thing about Kalinga was the owner lady who organized all...she was really nice and helped us in many ways. She organized all the boat trips, motorcycle rent, van tickets to Puerto Princesa ( the best and biggest van in town) and the prices were same or even cheaper than in town! She made our stay really nice! We also liked the quiet location ( 15 minutes to walk to town) and a nice view ( the beach was not nice thoug, but there is no nice beach in el nido anyway)
