Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Not 2 Star

Location, weather and the exit door
Booked this room based on the posting on Agoda. This is not a guesthouse, it is rooms above a ' bar' which I suppose is handy if you are a sole traveller requiring a little extra company. It says on its sign that it is an Aussie Bar, Restaurant and Bistro. Didn't see any Aussies, they don't do any food but it is a bar. Checked out sharply as soon as my 2 pre-booked nights were over! Enough said.

smiles and bed bugs

smiling staff
The black windows were uninviting. The staff was welcoming. The bedbugs were plentiful.

Ever watched Faulty Towers?

Location is ok
aside from the low price there is not a lot of positive things to say. the bar prices are way over the top for a cheap hotel. the room was very tired and had consistent water leaking in the bathroom and around the loo (caused by a leaky aircon unit) its owned by an aussie who isnt there and there are two inexperienced people running the hotel. and certainly getting "creative" with bar bills to say the least. while they are very friendly, the sensation of the back pocket being touched was non stop. i am also aware that it is used by the neighbouring "ladies of the night" from time to time.
Travel tip: There are plenty of better guesthouses and budget hotels at the same prices if you look around the area.

very close to the river and the owner is so nice!
The room was ok, although the cove were old. The bathroom drain emitted toilet smells throughout the room, so we kept the door closed. Its ok for one night, and rsthe location is pretty good, but it wasn't a top pick. There were a few others staying there that all seemed like regulars. They may have had better rooms. The owner is friendly and helpful, and there is a restaurant downstairs although we never ate there.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: MUST DO: Killing Fields and S21 Prison. Also, at the corner of the street the hotel is on and the river on the left is a restaurant that has a small movie theatre above it. Go see a movie to learn more about the history of Cambodia. Very inexpensive and informative.

Not as nice as the photos

Good location
My biggest recommendation: ask for a room facing the street. These have balconys and get very nice light. Every other room is without a window and are dingy and cell-like. Overall the hotel is good for the money. But for Phnom Penh you can do much better.
Restaurant Tip: BJ's House just down the street has an amazing breakfast.

good service and convienient location

arriving at the hotel went without a hitch. The room was good and the service was good also. The staff I had a little problem with the language barrier as their english was poor. The owner though her English was perfect. The food at the guesthouse was very tasty and the happy hour prices were good. I would not hesitate to return here.
Nightlife Tip: from 5pm onwards look for the happy hour places for cheap drinks
