Quiet retreat

Remote location, higher in the mountains nearly all other hotels
7.7
This place is well suitable for a retreat, 1 hour away from Chiang Mai city. According to Google Maps, the hotel is located 850 meters above sea level. The weather is about 3°C degrees cooler than in Chiang Mai. After quite a long search, I found only 2 other hotels (more expensive ones) located so high in the mountains. Compared with my previous stay, 2 years ago, the restaurant and the staff skills have improved. I wish that the room balcony has a small roof to sit there when it's raining. I would have preferred a private balcony instead of one shared with 3 other rooms. Be ready to communicate in Thai -or with gestures- with the staff, e.g. learn Thai or stay with a Thai friend or use automatic translator in your mobile phone. Mobile Internet connection (3G) was working quite well with DTAC operator. For a nice and long walk, you may follow the small & quiet road which climbs up in the mountains: farms, small villages...

Fabulous location - a few tweaks needed

Gorgeous views tucked away from the crowds. Well maintained grounds that are beautifully lit up at night.
8.3
This is a lovely place to stay. It is not a busy as Agoda availability suggests as it appears to always have last two rooms available. We had the place almost to ourselves. This meant that much of the menu wasn't available, for example no fruit at breakfast. I like a firm mattress but the ones in the deluxe rooms took some getting used to. But don't get me wrong I would definitely stay here again!

A Nice stay

Beautiful waterfall , friendly services, good privacy

Although a bit far from the main road, the resort is well located in a valley with a small waterfall. Have a happy and quiet stay with not too many guests around.

Hidden Gem, a MUST visit

AWESOME SURROUNDINGS, GREAT FOOD & RELAXATION
8.3
It's a hidden gem. The resort has a personal waterfall which you can see all time from your bedroom, walk and play at waterfall anytime you want, sound of waterfall makes it more relaxing (I like it), awesome and quiet surroundings and rooms are quiet well maintained (still some improvements can be done but it is well at good standard). It is not a modern equipped hotel which I believe will not match with the surroundings. It has thai style wooden house which makes it more nicer. It little far so better to have your own car so easy to go around. Close to all attractions. Pack you stuff and just enjoy few days here relaxing, hip hopping at attraction close to it or just sit and let the time pass at their restaurant facing the waterfall and view of valley. Sad that the owner is not promoting it properly though they are investing on it to keep in maintained. Anyone in resort business would be jealous to see this property and would like to own it but not sure why the owner does not promotes it that well as it has the best location in Mae Rim. I fully enjoyed though and will be back with my family to stay there in winters.

The Kangsadarn was a nice place to get away. It is a bit old and run down and the rooms were not that great. but it was clean and the staff were very helpful. The plants and gardens are beautiful. I would return to this hotel.

what is this trap ?

nothing good about this place
2.3
the nice waterfall can not justify the rest. a room with no tv, no internet, broken dvd, broken door of the restroom .... i look for the mattress all night .... after 7 pm, don't expect any thing from the staff, they are all gone and you are tarp in middle of no where. the worst place in thailand
