Kansai Airport

Built on an artificial island in Osaka Bay, Kansai International Airport is 40 kilometers to the south of the city of Osaka. Over a mile from end to end, the airport's single terminal is reputedly the longest building in the world. The airport is well-equipped with dining, shopping and currency exchange facilities, and has free wireless internet access in many parts of the terminal building.

There are several hotels across the bridge near Rinku-Town Station, six minutes away by rail, and one hotel is built on the artificial island itself. Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport is directly connected to the airport by a walkway, and boasts several restaurants and its own business center.

Accessible via a six-minute shuttle bus from the passenger terminal building, Sky View comprises an observation deck, amusement, restaurant and shopping floors. The Kanku Lounge is open to all visitors, offering massage, PC desks, shower booths, women's room, kids' playroom and business center.

The Refresh Room in the international departure area offers coin-op electronic massage chairs, shower rooms and personal lounges with beds. Numerous duty-free shops populate the international departures gate area, and the Aeroplaza on the third floor is filled with eateries and shops for passengers who wish to do some last-minute shopping.

The most practical means of getting to Osaka and Kyoto is by train. All trains leave from the Kansai Airport station across the road from the arrivals hall. Airport Limousine buses leave for some of Kansai’s major hotels from the 1st floor directly outside the arrivals hall, and can be faster than the train for some destinations such as Kobe. The bus is also the only practical option for connecting to domestic flights from Osaka's Itami Airport.
