It's truly a 5-star

Upclass, near sorak mountain, great view
Love this hotel as every floor has a different theme. The only sad part is that it has been raining heavily and though view is nice, it is partially covered with fog. We did not go in high season so the restaurant and karaoke all close early... Very quiet and good for resting. The wall paper in the room is peeling though... So though very well maintained, things are getting a little aged.

very nice location

Very nice location
Good service. Nice location. If you book double bed room and you will decide to open the window you will enjoy the voice sounds like Diesel generator. But hotel can kindly offer to you upgrade only for two bed's room on other side of hotel and you will enjoy the silence of mountings when you open the window. Much better have smaller bed then listen the voice of Diesel generator.

Lady Bugs!

Great staff, good location, easy access
Nice hotel, we were there during lady bug season, they were in our room, but staff jumped right in. We did no want to kill them because lady bugs are necessary to the ecosystem and are harmless; so staff gave us a battery operated vaccume to suck them up!

Nice but slightly surreal hotel

Proximity to the national park, very helpful staff, view from the room
It's quite a big hotel but you rarely see other guests which makes it seem a bit eerie (think the hotel out of The Shining). Only 1 of the hotel restaurants was open while we were there, the menu was very limited and not everything on the menu was available (we had a choice of pizza, pasta or fried chicken). The restaurant was big enough to seat about 30 people but on all 3 occasions we ate there, it was only us which added to the eeriness. That said, the rooms where very clean and comfortable and it was a real asset having the entrance of Seoraksan Park on your doorstep. Definitely not a 5 star hotel but probably the nicest hotel in the area (for western visitors anyway).

General review

Communication with the hotel staff, Cleanliness and the English Interior Decorations are very impressive.
Very pleasant stay with effective communication with the front staff. Walking distance to the foot of soeraksan. Though the interior was old and it is clean and unique.

Super convenient western hotel

walk to the mtn. western style. easy to find.
Everything was great about the Kensington except the food was mediocre. You can't beat how close it was to the mountain. As the cars were backed up and unable to park, it was wonderful to be able to walk right to the mountain.

Great Hotel Experience

This hotel has a great atmosphere. The decor is fun and authentic British (for an American.)
We liked the hotel very much. If you are accustomed to the firm Korean mattress you will love it. I prefer a softer mattress but slept well enough on the firm one to be satisfied. The hotel is so close to Seoraksan you can walk right in. This was a huge deal and made staying there worth the price. Plus there was parking available on a peak-season day when the traffic was jam packed.
