A decent place to stay and close to the train station. Like the social atmosphere in the basement. I'd say again.

Hot box capsules compromise comfort/security

Staff extremely friendly, keep the place immaculately clean, willing to help

My phone was stolen out of my capsule while I was sleeping because I had it open for ventilation. I blame myself as much for not properly securing my goods and placing them on the closed end of the capsule and repositioning my head at the open end. An extremely small mounted fan in each of the capsules would be the best solution and make this an excellent hostel option in Tokyo.

Generally it is not a hotel - it is a hostel. You have to do your own bed. No lift was an issue as we did not have backpacks. Very little space in the room and very dark.

Great conditions for a reasonable price

Very friendly and helpful staff, no curfew, clean rooms, good wi-fi connection

I stayed in a capsule in the mixed 20-capsule room on the 4th floor. It was a pleasant first-time experience, but I should beware you that this is not an "authentic Japanese capsule" experience that you may have read about on the Internet. These capsules are made of wood, have soft mattress, small closable wooden window and a sliding door that you can lock from outside. Pros: + Ninja design. + Very friendly and helpful staff. Always helped me with any problems that I had. I spoke with them in Japanese but they are also good in English. I forgot my keys in the capsule once and accidentally locked it. Luckily the window in the capsule was open and a member of the staff used some ninja skills and managed to get into the capsule through such a small window and get the keys! There's really some ninja magic going on there. + No curfew (this can be a con, see below). + Surprisingly wi-fi connection and speed were good. + Rooms and bathrooms are indeed clean. + There's a coin laundry right across the street and they can give you a free detergent! Otherwise it is 100 yen in a coin laundry. + They give you an instructons list when you check-in with all the information you need. + There's a kitchen with free tea and coffee, though I've never been there. + Two AC sockets in the capsule (Japanese type). + Hair dryer in the bathroom. + You can rent a towel for only 50 yen. Cons: - Because capsules are made of wood, almost with every move there will be a creacky sound that can be disturbing (at least this is right for upper capsules). - Lack of curfew means that if you sleep lightly you may wake up when some loudly stepping dude will decide to return back to his creacky capsule at 2 AM. - The air in the room was very wet. On the first day I decided not to dry my hair after the shower and amazingly it was still wet in the morning. Overall it was enjoyable experience!
