Great Getaway

Location, Food, Service
It was great experience to be in that island resort, pampered with food , beverages & service.

Nice views and quiet environment

Well maintained but probably do not deserve 5 stars
Nice staff. Limited choices of food. Nice swimming pool but beach has some stones not always convenient for kids. Hotel clean and well maintained.

Great island but resort not up to 5 stars standard

Amazing location, the reef is just few meters away, very close to Hanifaru bay. Food is overpriced so all the activities and the equipment rental.

Nice resort on a very nice island

Nice island, beautiful beach, great variety of sealife
The resort is fine, most things work fine but maintenance is somewhat lacking (low water pressure, rooms somewhat past their repair date...). The island is very nice with beautiful soft coral sand, plenty of vegetation, nice variety of fish. The coral around the island is quite damaged by people trammelling it to pieces which the hotel does seem to do anything about. We were 'welcomed' by a rat on the outside bathroom but that was quickly dealt with.

Location, room, price
Stunning location, beautiful room, attentive staff. Only a few things let this resort down.. Our last night at the resort we decided to have the 3 course dinner. While my husband enjoyed his entree, the main meal was way too salty & my seafood platter consisted of frozen seafood- the prawns were not fresh & put me off the rest of my meal. We were disappointed to be served such bad quality seafood in a place reknown for its seafood! Wifi in room was patchy. Be prepared for the 18% service taxes on everything.. Overall, we did enjoy our time at kiihaad, just the dinner was unsatisfactory.

A very friendly hotel

attentive staff, beautiful beach, good facilities
Comfortable and enjoyable. No need to do any hurry, actually for relaxation. You will not do it in any hotle located in the city centre.

Great location, but definitely not 5star hotel

Great beaches with a nice beach bar, wonderful spa and good facilities for small children (playground, doctor)
Stay was ok , had good fun with the kids but still too many things not well arranged to justify a 5 star rating. The bed was terrible, really, the food always the same (all inclusive) and not super fine or special. There was also a fly, problem which was terribly annoying during breakfast and lunch.

Great location and view but poor food

Well made and spacious rooms, beautiful surroundings, quiet and peaceful
The pros: Beautiful island (like most of Maldives). The resort was beautifully made with spacious and clean rooms. Good range of facilities including tennis courts, gym and sea sports. Resort is best for a relaxing getaway. The cons: Resort is over catered to Chinese tourist that there is almost nothing Maldivian about this place. About 80% tourist from China so most reception staff are from China and meal menu catered to them. Food is poor and overpriced. There is Chinese, Western and Japanese menu but not well made. Seafood we ordered was not fresh and the pasta selections were tasteless. To get to the resort you will have to top up US$400 pp for domestic flight transfer. As it is a small plane, would not recommend for those afraid to fly. Not a place to go if you are a diver as diving is overpriced. You will have to go for a test dive (US$100) even if certified. Most corals here are dead. Please refer to seasons if you would like to see manta rays. Whale share sightings are rare. Excursions are mediocre - didn't not see a single dolphin on dolphin trip (US$40). No submarine or at least glass bottom boats that can be found in other resorts in Maldives. Spa is just ok. Have had much better experience in other locations.
