Small Mingsu looks like self owned
near central shopping area in hualien. that is about all.
had to change to their slippers at level 1 before going to the room, they do sell small items in front of their desk and a new gal served us and was not very familiar what she had to do. room was ok but the toilet looks run down as some of the items were like rusty. we had 2 beds so our kids slept on another bed. for breakfast, you had to walk a few shops away and have your set breakfast (1 type only with 2 sandwiches and some salad) and drinks are refillable (coffee and black tea only). 2nd day the breakfast place was not opened, so they provided me 2 mcdonald's voucher and $100 twd as they ran out of vouchers.

Not too bad!
Great location, comfortable bed
Given the great location of this place, I was puzzled as to why the previous review was a few months ago. When we arrived from Hualien train station by taxi (NTD 125) at 6pm, they already had our room ready with the air-con turned on for us! We had a triple room on the 5th floor. The room had a swing which was squeaky (not that we used it anyway). The beds were extremely comfortable, though the pillow feels overused (each person gets 1 pillow, and it flattens out when you lie on it). The shampoo/soap dispenser in our room was a little problematic. We also had an issue with the electronic keycard: on good occasions, we can enter our rooms immediately. On bad ones, we have to try scanning for a couple of minutes before the room door opens. Breakfast was acceptable at a nearby cafe - if not for the fact that the coffee machine was broken during my stay. Had to head to 7-11 to get my daily coffee fix. Location wise, this place is fantastic. It is in the city centre, and yet tucked away nicely. Dongmen (Rainbow Night Market) is about 10 min walk away. We also visited Ziqiang Night Market, where we over-ate and had a good 30 min stroll back to King 13 B&B too. Generally a good place, but I wish they paid attention to all the little details which would have otherwise made it a perfect place to stay.

Good service!
Location, Staff, Beautiful room
we love the set up of the rooms.. The VIP room is spacious, and we enjoyed having dinner together at the sofa..It's as if returning to our home, having a common area for the six of us to chat and get together. Staff was helpful too in recommending attractions around the area. Unfortunately for Hualien, shops close quite early at around 10. But we love the hualien residents for their genuinity in helping travellers like us.. I met a taxi driver who is on his way home, willing to drive us back to the hotel, and even helped me find souvenir shop that has mostly closed.. We found one shop that hasnt closed yet, and he was willing to wait for us and drove us back to the hotel! Hualien is definitely a city to visit, and this B&B is a good place to rest your soul!

No-Frills Acconnodation
Decent, Basic, No-Frills
I can't call this a hotel as I can't wear my shoes into the room. More like a B&B. Slippers are provided at reception. Lift is very tiny and slow. Climbing the stairs is faster than the lift. Basic Hotdog on Bread for breakfast at a Café about 30m from Main Building.
