Value for money, but will never stay there again...
I understand that you can't ask for much for this price. But I stayed in cheaper hotels with much better atmosphere/location/staff/rooms. It's good option only if moving by cab and if knowing the language (to explain taxi drivers how to drive there). Nothing to do around in the evening - most places close, and is quite dark and deserted alley. Even though on the map it looks close to Forbidden City - its not!!! Its close to its exit (which is 40 minutes walk from entrance). Staff is not helpful at all, asked for help to book a call a cab to 798 Gallery, and the concierge just waved me away saying to look for cab outside on the main road which is 200 meter walk (and i had luggage with me), even though I had address printed out in Chinese. Rooms are ok, size is good, bathroom is good, not shiny clean, but pleasant look. Mattresses were super hard, but some people like it. TV only in Chinese and Wi-Fi doesn't work in rooms. Food - I didn't try. The buildings where its located (btw the one on the picture isn't the hotel itself, but just building opposite) are really nice. I think with a bit more effort they could create a really nice cozy hotel with good atmosphere and position it as hidden place far from crowded touristy streets in a historical building. They just need friendly staff and better interior design taste=)) To summarize: Pros: *cheap *close to Forbidden City (exit) Cons: *Bad location (very far from Subway / 300m to main road / hard to find) *Staff was unfriendly Conclusion: Will never stay there again. There are places just slightly more expensive, but will definitely save money on taxi's and TIME in general, which is the most valued thing when you are travelling=)))

Room was not clean, Internet basically doesn't work, Drinking water not provided
To begin with, even though the area in which the hotel is situated is good, it is difficult to find the hotel by yourself. The view from the hotel is not really of a park, but actually of a parking. The room was not clean, it appeared as if that they didn't vacuum the floor before providing the room. As of the internet, I had to ask for the wifi access, and then I could barely connect to the internet. I asked several times to fix it or improve the speed or something, they didn't or couldn't do anything. Had to activate international roaming on my phone to access internet, couldn't even use whatsapp literally. And finally they didn't even provide drinking water. The water in bathroom was so bad, my fingers started feeling thorny. Staff was helpful to some extent, had a couple of English speaking staff to help with your queries. Book only if you want a roof on your head, if you want to have a comfortable stay, you should look for somewhere else.

Disappointed
Housekeepers are attentive
Overall disappointed - staff unhelpful to assist when asked to provide local telephone of Cathay Pacific as flight was cancelled. Even the booking of train/flight dept cannot render service - all staff can only respond with "I don't know" - wifi cannot be used during the day cos heavy demand and unable to open any files. Will not recommend or future stay at this hotel.
