Best location for theatre break in London
Just back from a great stay at the Kingsway Hall Hotel. It is only 5 minutes from Holborn underground and about 8 minutes from Covent Garden underground. Lovely friendly staff, clean and modern hotel, easy walk to Covent Garden. This is the best hotel we have stayed in for a theatre break and not just for the location, although the fact that it is close to Euston Station (£10 taxi fare) and the undergrounds as well as the theatre district makes it pretty much perfect. We were there to celebrate our daughter's 21st and when I mentioned this to the staff in conversation there was a lovely little plate of birthday cakes in her bedroom when we returned later on. We had 2 upgraded rooms and they were well worth it. Lovely large rooms on the 6th floor looking out onto the front of the hotel. Really comfortable bed and good air con meant we slept well even during the recent heatwave. The bathroom was lovely, modern and clean with a heated towel rail so the towels were always warm, Molton Brown toiletries and a hairdryer in the bathroom. I took my own hairdryer and glad I did as the hotel ones are never quite powerful enough but fine if you have short hair. All in all we loved our stay- so much so that without hesitation we will return to this hotel for our next stay in London. Can't be beaten for location no matter where in London we will be visiting and the staff were so friendly. Fantastic hotel!

The staff make it an excellent choice.
The hotel is lovely, even though the rooms were not particularly big, they were adequate for a long weekend in London. There were big wardrobes with an iron & board, and an in room safe and mini bar. Like most London hotels, the prices for drinks and snacks was ridiculous, but as you have bars and restaurants on the doorstep, there's rarely a need to spend the sky high prices here. The staff made the stay extra special. Every one that I spoke to, for whatever reason, was helpful, professional but friendly. I always felt at ease, which is not always the case with 'posh' hotels. The room and bathroom were always cleaned very well. The bed was a little firm for my liking, but others in my party were very comfortable. I would have liked feather pillows, but again, that's just a personal preference. I have marked the 'facilities' down due to the price of the drinks in the bar, and the disappointing amount of choices on the set menu in the restaurant. There was nothing on the menu that appealed to everyone in my party, so I can't comment on the quality of the food, as we didn't eat there. Strada, an Italian restaurant across the road was lovely. Ask for a higher floor to avoid the noise of London and the pubs in the street. We were on the 7th floor, and not disturbed at all by anything. There is in-room air conditioning, so no need to keep the windows open all night for air. I'd definitely stay here again. It's within easy walking distance to Covent Garden and even Piccadilly Circus and Soho. We also walked to different theatres every night, and there are loads in the vicinity.

It was in a great location, unfortunately for a delux room we did not expect to look out of the window to see just a brick wall. Not good at all.

Very good hotel with excellent location
We found this to be a very good hotel with an excellent location. Easy to walk down to Covent Garden, Soho and everything my wife loves about London. My wife goes to London about every year and likes to stay at new hotels, but she is really positive about returning here in the future. The only minor thing was that the beds are not that long, and neither are we!
