Simple bungalows with a great location

location/staff performance/quiet
The bungalows are nice with a great location facing the sea but very simple. It is missing some shelves inside if you stay several nights. I also feel that it is overpriced. The food is really good and the staff very professional.

Amazing honeymoon getaway

Location, solitude, restaurant
My husband and I found an incredible deal on Agoda and booked the grande beachfront villa (I think that's what it was called). We stayed for two nights and wish we could have stayed for a week. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was delicious and had a good variety of dishes - the thai was some of the best we had in Thailand. Breakfast was also great! The dirt road, although somewhat difficult to travel, added to the charm and privacy of the resort. My family was hesitant about us traveling to such an undeveloped island, but after raving about Koh Jum Resort, they are all eager to travel there themselves!

Chilled out escape

Big bungalows..plenty of room and clean..quiet and peaceful location..lie by the beach or by the pool..beautiful views and lush tropical gardens a little bit of heaven
if whatl you want is to switch off and chill out this is the place for you. We loved the place. Staff were very friendly and food was fantastic. Ok so the pool is what?.. you have a huge beach crystal clear water and a view to die for...monkeys on the roof,. 3 foot lizards saying hello and butterflies the size of ur hands. If you can handle the odd mosquito and cockroach.. (it is right in a tropical jungle after all) then enjoy. We will definitely go back. Thanks Koh Jum!!

Lovely 3 day stay

Great views and isolated location. Paradise would be an apt description. Lovely view from the room and staff were very helpful and friendly.
Had a lovely time on the island.

Not worth 3 stars

The beach
The door broke so we were unable to lock the door ! - one of the windows were missing a catch - the toilet got blocked and they said they had unblocked it and hadn't ! - the staff seem friendly at first but when we wanted to leave early they didn't give us much information about what pier we would arrive in at Krabi and when we asked for more information they got stressy with us and although they gave us a free lift their they didn't handle us asking for more information very well !

Value for money?! Not here!!

The balcony
Koh jum should be our last island stop on our way back to krabi. Therefore we booked over agoda a flash deal for the kohjum "resort" for 2 nights in a sea view bungalow. At first let me start by telling you that the whole pictures you find online are not the reality, which is not a new story in Thailand, however we trusted the reviews on agoda. The difference between the reviews you find online and this one here is that I am writing about the highly advertised bungalow, which is the category backpackers and young people book and not the villas which costs 100++ for a night. So as you can see in the pictures the bungalow is very old, Dirty and dusty, our sheets were yellow and not white, the mosquito net was a joke, there were so many big holes in this net so that we fixed them with tape. The value for money what you get here is horrible. Even the door of our bungalow was completely unnecessary because even if you locked it up there was so much space that everyone can just easily get in. The safe which is in the room is not fixed to anything so that you can just carry it away maybe this was the idea by not fixing it to the wall or anything, so that you can take the safe with you to the beach. The staff is just chilling around the whole day at the reception surfing on the net instead of cleaning or just pretending to work on anything. The hotwater was not working at first when we arrived, they fixed it after a while, but while doing so a smell of gas covered the whole room. Then I have asked for the manager and Hey he was able to leave his chill area, called reception, and was unfriendly and incompetent just like the first impression. I really do not recommend this place to anyone, please book another nice accommodations around this beautiful island but do not support an accommodation like this which has never heard of creating value for money for their guests and is just after everyone's Money.

Away from it all

Isolation, food, sunset views and staff
This resort is away from it all. About an hour's drive from noisy, crowded Krabi and then a 20 minute fast boat ride. Finally,a bumpy 10 minute drive to the resort. It is right on the beachfront. It's the place to come to if you simply like to hear the small waves washing ashore below your balcony. There are mosquitoes so bring some tropical strength repellant. There is no A/C but the fans in the room were perfectly adequate. There are purpose built gaps in the roof and some mosquitoes can get in through some wall gaps. A mosquito net is provided so not a big problem. There are 2 small swimming pools if you don't want to be stung by some nasties in the sea. I had to remove some sharp broken bottles on the shoreline. The sunset photos are great as are the walks along the beach. There is plenty of shade under the trees. The staff are very helpfull and the food was very good in the open-air restaurant. There is a massage facility. The beds are comfortable. There are plenty of books available to read next to the restaurant. The accommodation is single bungalows with thatched roofs. Our room was big. There were two very comfotable cane chairs on the balcony. Very relaxing.

Very disappointing

Relaxing & quiet
We certainly wouldn't recommend staying here. The staff were rude and very unhelpful. The lady serving food appeared to go out of her way to make us feel unwelcome, despite there only being a few guests. The hotel is located on the north west of the island, which is very remote. There is nothing to see or do. Due to high tide the beach is inaccessible from 8am - 4pm. After living in Thailand for 4 years and visiting many of the islands this is the most disappointing.

nice resort but entrance road is dangerous

good scenery, service, clean food.
We stay in bamboo cottage, a little old. Very good scenery, but some trashed found on beach The road to resort is too dangerous for unskilled biker. The resort could gain better score.

Perfect when you want to do nothing

Good staff and food. Good valu for the money (we stayed off season for special price though).
We had good three days. Which was enough for us. There is not much to do and for our family with four kids there is a limit how long we can stay at s place where doing nothing is the main activity. But it's a great place and you can easily rent a motorcycle and get around the island if you want to. If you are up for it there is a mountain to climb as well. But most of all you use the small but nice swimming pool or swim in the sea. Good food and good breakfast for reasonable price.
