Good hotel, but a little on the expensive side

Fantastic view, interesting and original room types, rent scooters/bikes at reception
Our stay at Cococape Resort was good. We stayed in the Coco Sense room. I was a little bit sick on the day that we arrived, which meant that the first few hours of our stay were spent in bed. The room we booked had no normal bed. Instead it was a big matrass that was put on a raised floor. I have slept like this before, but it is a little less comfortable then a regular bed. The bathroom was huge! It felt bigger then the living area, which also had a bunkbed in there taking up valuable space, so I feel that balance could have been improved. Perhaps moving the bunkbed in there would improve it, although that does sound a bit unconventional. The balcony was great. There was a comfortable couch overlooking the sea that I spent a lot of hours on while recovering from the flu. There was also a bathtub there, but we never filled it up completely. Getting into the room or leaving it is a bit of an adventure. There's are narrow wooden steps next to a pond that you have to climb. Luckilly reception carries your bags there when you arrive, but when you checkout your on your own! It was fine for us, but if you're a bit older or you can't walk very well, maybe this is not the room for you! The breakfast was normal for Thai standards. The restaurant itself is a little bit expensive. Also, the one time I ordered an Egg&Bacon sandwich I got a Ham sandwich instead. It was still tasty though, so I'll just blame that on the language barrier. When I was feeling better we rented a scooter and drove over the Island. Renting was fast and easy. We payed 300 baht for one day, which means 24 hours. If you rent the scooter at 15:00, you can return it at that same time the next day. This was nice, since we got to ride around the island 2 days in a row for the price of one. Overall I enjoyed my stay at this resort a lot. I do think it's probably on the expensive side and I would try some other hotels the next time we're here before I will return.

great staff and sunset pier

staff, location, rooms for everyone's taste
As a solo traveler sometimes your health suffers and being alone can be a scary proposition. The staff here were wonderful when I had a rough few days. Add the amazing pier at sunset and the quiet location and the variety of rooms for all then this hotel gets high praise. Yes a bit tired in places but charming. proposition.

Snorkelling and bar at the private pier, views, restaurant
Just wow! This is not a fancy or plush hotel but it oozes with character and charm. It has a large variety of room types (and prices), each one unique. All the rooms are spread around a hill set into the bush or directly on the water. There are three areas for sitting around and relaxing, all with great views, but each with it's own charm: (1) the main restaurant area is beside the water with wooden furniture and friendly staff, and the food is excellent; (2) the infinity pool is very nice and has a small concrete water slide down a natural slope, which is fun for all ages and it includes areas suitable for young children; and (3) the pier has a bar on it and plenty of chairs, plus is a good place to snorkel from. The pier is really unique, offering something unique to all other hotels (although is unsafe for very young children). There is also a beautiful, secluded beach 2 minutes past the pier around the point.

The room terrace, the pier, location
We had a really amazing stay over Christmas. The staff were super cool, our room and terrace were lovely. Hanging out watching the sunset on the pier was incredible.

Not a very special place

Food was OK, the pier was nice, and close to harbour
The resort was quite badly maintained. Many staff working there but nobody did any cleaning of the area, they just played on their phones... the pool was very small, not at all like the pictures. The room we had was very old, the bathtub was damaged and the door had about 4 CM opening on top, so mosquitos had no problem visitng us in the night The matress was hard (thai style) and the pillows gave you neck problem as they also were very hard The food was OK, not more We came from a very nice resort at Koh Kood, so maybe we were biased due to this. The price was lower, but I will not returen to Cococape, I rather spend little more money to have better room and facilities than here. The only nice thing was the Koh Kaam island, but since it was windy they could not take us there because the small boat they had was not safe. Finally on our last day the wind was better and we could go there, and Koh Kaam was a small paradise

save your money look elsewhere.
1. Overpriced for wholly inferior accommodation. 2. Access into & out via walking prevented by aggressive dog. I was attacked by the dog and had to protect myself with aerosol insect repellant. A staff member denied I was victim of dog attack. When staff were taken to see offending dog advised stray do nothing would be done. 3. The stench of fish behind the kitchen was enough to not eat at resort. 4. With my personal safety compromised by aggressive stray dog, fish stench behind kitchen checked out early. The staff were not interested as to why checked out one day for a five day booking.
