Secluded getaway

Privacy, relaxation
first things first, the setup of this hotel is really unique. each bungalow is pretty secluded, meaning that you will have lots of privacy, but also that the resort is very large for the amount of guests they have and you will do a fair amount of walking. like a lot of the other reviews said, you are kind of in your own little world here, and there isn't much around that's within walking distance. unless you are okay with renting a scooter for your entire stay here and okay with driving it at night in the dark, be prepared to eat at the expensive hotel restaurant every night (and i didn't think the seafood was all that fresh). that being said, the prices weren't outrageous, but definitely a good 50-100% higher than you would be paying elsewhere. for instance, the scooter for rent through them was a day, where as elsewhere on the island you could get it for without even negotiating. be prepared to have a rather large hotel bill at the end of your stay. don't want to rag on the resort, because the rooms, the service, the people, the pool, and the view were terrific... and it was definitely a very relaxing stay that very much fit in with the attitude of the island itself. exact opposite of what you will find in patong or phi phi. very much enjoyed the library's free internet, and the free pick-up service from the pier. if you can get a room closer to the reception, you might be able to bum the free wi-fi without leaving your room!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: We would definitely recommend renting a scooter on this island. Not only does it give you the option to buy some snacks at local prices, but it allows you to go out and explore this chill island and get to know the locals.

best for relax &Honeymoon

privacy and amazing view from swimming pool
this is my second time we were at koh yao zysi village,we decided to upgrade to seaview bungalow and it really special. u got the widesceen tv, more space and privacy which very important to our honeymoon.the breakfast is not best but plenty choice, it is a set abf. there are two swimming pool which had a brilliant view. we will definately be back.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: the best way to explore the island is to rent the motorbike.

No tourism, great get away resort

Big room, nice pool, good view
The room is fantastic,it is huge. Outdoor tropical shower is a spotlight, really joyful experience. 2 pools, there is a pool bar at the bigger pool, great view looking out from the infinity pool. 3pm-5pm is happy hour time, all drinks buy 1 get 1 free. Quiet, not touristy, moutain bike and motor bike for rent at the lobby, easy. Restaurant service is very slow, food is so so, coffee is bad.

Just Perfect

Island setting
This is a magnificent escape if you can get it at a good price. Its a remote Island hideway in the Andaman sea, not alot to do other than escape, eat, explore, swim, and enjoy this very underdeveloped island. The hotel is very nice and while the beach area is good for a walk and not so good for a swim the hotel pool well and truely makes up for it. The staff are fantastic and really want your stay to be enjoyable. The island is largely Muslim hence very little alcohol on the island outside of the Hotel. Restaurant food is just OK and after a few days gets a bit boring, but overall its well worth the trip. We used the hotel arranged transfer from airport to the island and the hotel and its was all easy.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Hire a couple of scooters ( abt 300 bht / day ) and explore the island there are some magnificent beaches where you will be the only people there.

True Island getaway
if you can get this resort at a good rate its absolutely worth including in your itinerary. location, views, peacefullness, magnificent swimming pool, staff, rooms all excellent. the restaurant meals are a little boring after a few days but thats the only small downside. the hotel organised transfer from phuket airport to hotel went perfectly, but note you need to go outside of the airport building itself to meet your guide. not alot to do on the island other than hire a motorbike and explore some of the magnificent beaches where you will probably be the only one on the beach. the hotel beach is just ok ... good for walking along but not really the best for swimming but the pool makes up for it and is set right on the beach in any case.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: at the restaurant near the pier where you arrive you can organise a local to do a 3 island snorkelling trip in a long tail boat. cost for a full day, for four people including lunch was 3000bht. this is a must do.

Amazing Resort in a peaceful part of Thailand

Big rooms, two nice pools, excellent service
We had an amazing stay at the Koh Yao Yai Village. It's set in an unspoilt part of Thailand. If you're looking to explore traditional Thai life or get away from the hustle and bustle of some of the more touristy spots then Koh Yao Yai is a great choice. You will need to hire a scooter or bikes to get around this island. We ate at the hotel restaurant most nights - great food and fairly well priced. The outlook of the restaurant is gorgeous and they have three romantic tables near the water - you'll need to get in quick to book these spots.
Travel tip: Go see the locals down at the pier for a great deal on island exploration.

beautiful view

swimming pool was good
the foods are great, and the staffs are very nice^^ romm very tidy ,very good weather ,but it is so far to there,if u arriver in phuket airport, first u need to by 20 mins taxi to bangrong pier, then speed boat 40mins to koh yao pier ,arriver the pier ,15 mins taxi to village.........
Shopping Tip: only one shop in there,if u want to buy some snacks ,must buy outside already.

Serene location

Good service, quiet, new, nice lodges, poor english speaking staff
Nice stay after busy Krabi or Phuket (motor)bike rental Good food but more expensive than elsewhere
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Eiland hopping, caves, biking on the island but above all Relax

peaceful oasis

pool, staff, bungalow
the hotel was exactly as we imagined from pictures and comments on agoda website, maybe even a bit better, transfer from phuket provided by hotel very convenient and hassle-free, would highly recommend; warm welcome with a refreshing drink, bungalows are very nice and spacious, huge bathroom with outdoor shower, the terrace was great, beautiful surrounding {in the middle of forrest}; breakfast buffet - very good selection, outdoor restaurant with pool/seaview, we had dinner only once {was good and reasonably priced], because there are many dining options outside hotel area {we rented a motorbike and drove around the island} pool was awesome, with a great seaview staff always helpfull, smiling, very pleasant beach was disappointing, almost impossible to swimm in the sea, because it's very shallow, you can walk for minutes and still the water reaches up to your knees - but the pool makes up for the beach :-) definitely would come back and would recommend to anybody looking for relaxing holiday
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: rent a motorbike and go round the island, we found a beautiful beach with white sand and clear water - just for the two of us, also had meals in various restaurants and from local street shops
