Awesome experience at Kota Beach!
We enjoyed our stay. We get to watch the moon and the stars at night on the beach. So beautiful shoreline with white powdery sands, great for pictures. And the food were also delicious. The staff are nice. Thank you Kota! :)

few staff @ long wait time
Hotel has its own restaurant however we had a very long wait time of almost 2 hours serving the food we ordered for dinner. Hotel must improve the number of staff as it appears they are understaff. Also staff needs training on customer experience as they were unaccomodating. AC in the room was very poor considering we are situated in a beach front room. We requested to be transferred however no room was available. We were given fan instead. Over all 2/5 for experience. Might not be back again and would prolly not recommend to family and friends.

VERY SLOW
service in terms of restaurant and check-in were quite slow. facilities were just quite enough for those who seek basic needs and just there to enjoy the magnificent beach. food was delicious but it took us about almost 2 hours of waiting before it goes to the table. all of these are passable since you are there to enjoy the sand and the sea.

Great location, value for money
They have a beautiful sandbar in front, and a nice lounging area by the beach. Can spend whole afternoons there. Value for money rooms, and walking distance to the restaurants in Sta. Fe.

Needs improvement
The resort lacks the basic amenities or facilities that any other resort would have. The restaurant needs to really improve the taste of the food it serves. Service and delivery need to be improved. The staff should not be prevented from chatting or engaging in conversations with the customers because that's how excellent customer service is delivered. Rapport building is the key. The entire time I was there, management acted too strict as if it was running a household. That should not be the case. Management should not be seen dining at the same time as the customers. I saw HOW MUCH management ate more than the customers and showed how they RULED than managed the entire resort.

The Fan Rooms are basic but you get a beautiful be
I was GRANDPAcking in Bantayan Island for 8 nights. I booked my first night at the Kota Beach Resort in a fan room. The fan room cost me PHP950 / night and it was very basic ... cold water shower, no in-room wifi, no tv, simple furniture ... I rented a scooter and toured the island to see if I could find anything better. I concluded that I could not ... the Kota was the best value for money beachfront resort that I could find and afford. Compared to the rest of S.E.Asia, Philippines accommodation is poor value for money ... full stop; so it isn't just the Kota nor Bantayan Island ... in The Philippines, it is what it is. If you see past the poor value room, you get many positives ... The Kota is on the best beach on the island. Your room is automatically cleaned every 2 days: clean towels, clean linen, binds emptied, etc. It has a nice beachfront restaurant. It has a nice beachfront bar with pool table. It is an easy walk to the central Poblacion shops, restaurants, and bars. All-in-all, if you can see past the disappointment with your fan room, you will get one of the best 'experiences' on Bantayan if you stay at the Kota.
