Walking distance to most city attractions.

Centrally located, in front is Waterfront Beach and local foods available behind the hotel.

Generally is OK for the price paid. When we checked in, the room light was not working and they repaired it. The air-con seem to be working intermittently causing the room to be sometime cold and warm. Breakfast was lousy.

The promised breakfast was just self service coffee and bread also have to be early, finishes fast. Nothing special except the furniture are made of old drift wood.

Can have a view at Waterfront just cross the road in front the hotel. Easy shopping like cakes and all type of souvenirs around the hotel.

Great location, great service

Centrally located and very easy access to all tourist location transport, very friendly staff, beautiful hotel design

Located right in the centre of the Kuching Waterfront area, without a doubt the best thing about this place is the excellent location, followed closely by the friendly staff. The shuttle bus stop is close by, and you can ask the hotel staff to book it so that it picks you up right in front of the hotel. The main bus stop (no. 1) is a few minutes walk away, for destinations accessible by public transport. A large shopping centre (Plaza Merdeka) is about 10 minutes walk away, and of course there's the waterfront itself, which has some great views and plenty of food stalls. Finally Chinatown is also just behind the hotel for an excellent taste of local food, including Sarawak Laksa and Kolo Mee. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and generally fluent in English - I definitely recommend going over your plans with them as they will be able to give you all sorts of tips and tricks to enhance your experience. They're also very enthusiastic when talking about the local culture and scenery - it's clear that they love their city and it's contagious. The lodge itself is beautifully designed in traditional Chinese style (Nyonya I think?), and the owner has acquired all sorts of interesting antiques as decoration. The sky-well is another interesting feature. The building is mostly wood and can be a bit creaky. The room was a bit small and the view was not great (but maybe just luck). The bed was wooden and was quite creaky. There were only two electrical sockets (one of which didn't connect very well) and our tap dripped sometimes. There was no wireless connection in the room (so you have to use the lobby), but the staff told us they were planning to install routers in the rooms soon. Apart from these minor gripes, the room was clean and comfortable, and quite pleasantly decorated. To sum up, the excellent location, friendly staff and beautiful building design as well as affordable price make this place an excellent recommendation for your stay in Kuching.

The staff was very helpful and the location was good to walk to almost anywhere. The hotel and room were very clean and safe. Apart from these, we like the interior design very much.

We had a night stay in this budget hotel due to its central location. The hotel is located close to major sightseeing attractions in Kuching Centre, all within walking distance. The hotel is nicely decorated and give a sense of old taste. Overall it is value for money for budget traveller.

Handy location, helpful staff

great hotel with friendly helpful staff. the rooms are well furnished, clean and well appointed. we found the location handy for catching the bus (#1) to bako national park, and there were plenty of interesting shops and places to eat in the area. if you want to go to semengoh nature reserve, the staff at the hotel can arrange a pre-paid shuttle for rm35 per person. they can also arrange shuttles for other destinations. note that there is no wi-fi in the rooms, only in the communal area downstairs, but as it is a pleasant roomy area we didn't find it a problem.
