Stuffy room

Chose this hotel as it's near to starting line of a race I was participating in. Wanted it to be a budget trip so opted for room with fan. However, it was obviously a mistake as room was incredibly stuffy and the hot weather in Bohol certainly didnt help. For my next day, I wouldn't mind staying here again but definitely have to choose an air-conditioned room.

On this recent trip to the Philippines, my family decided to go to Bohol to do some island hopping. We had never been here before so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Buying the tickets to get there was a cinch but finding a place to stay was a little tricky. After plentiful research of reviews and posted pictures my sister and I had decided to stay at L’ Elephant Bleu, we were able to book two rooms for 5 days and 4 nights for under $400, plus they offer free wi-fi! We got the rooms instead of the cottages because there weren’t any available cottages at the time, which by the way are very nice (they let us check it out). The overall appearance of the hotel was spotless and the rooms were immaculate (linens and towels changed daily)! This place has cold/hot showers and extensive t.v. channels. The next day my dad woke us up bright and early since he is so used to the military life and he told us he was going downstairs. He came back up with these delicious chocolate croissants (only 50 pesos each). The person who brought up the food saw my nephew and went downstairs to get him a glass of milk on the house (kid friendly) a big plus! They also have different tours you can do around Bohol, just inquire at the front desk. My dad and sister asked about the island hopping tour and they booked it only to find out that it was cheaper so the receptionist walked up to our room to return the overage. The staff here is very nice, if you need a towel for the beach just ask them and they will give you one. The owner got word that it was my dad’s birthday so he gave him a glass of wine on the house, which he didn’t have to do. The hospitality and friendliness of the management and staff at this hotel are top-notch. I am so bad that I only remember a couple of their names, Franklin (night guard) & Maria Corazon (receptionist) are only a few of the awesome staff members. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Bohol. Book L’Elephant Bleu now!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Definitely book the "Balicasag/Virgin Island" island hopping tour through L'Elephant Bleu, it's cheap and so worth it. Bring your own lunch since it's not included and don't eat at Balicasag Island because the food is expensive.

great location & price

The location is great 5 mins walk to the beach. For the price, its pretty much worth it. The rooms are cleaned everyday and the sheets smell good, its just some of them are almost threadbare like they have been washed a thousand times and they are still using it. Intermittent water loss but only for a few minutes. I will recommend to friends who want an affordable place to stay in Bohol.

Decent Budget place

Very friendly staff

the hotel is about a block or so from the beach. we stayed in the main building which is pretty much motel-style accomodation. nothing wrong with it though, everything was fine. they have some thatch cottages accross the road (still not on the beach) looked ok but didn't see inside them. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. couldn't have been better!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The trip around the island to see the historic churches, the Blood Compact Site and the Chocolate Hills is well worth it. The banca trip out to Balicisag is worth it, even if you're only snorkelling instead of diving. Besides their restaurant next to the cottages, which was very goodd, there is a German restaurant (un-associated with the hotel) below the motel-style building, which was very good for all meals.

This is a home away from home.

They have clean rooms, pleasant front desk staff, best bread and breakfast! We had an amazing stay!

A good hotel a short walk away from Alona Beach. Near restaurants and shops. Rooms are clean with basic amenities. The hotel doesn't provide breakfast but has fresh pastries available daily. There's also a nice coffee shop located across the street.

we stayed for 2 nights and had a good time. our room was with air-conditioning; well worth extra money in this season. good location - alona beach is just 5 mins walk from the hotel. the only thing that was not up to our expectations was the hotel staff. we called reception quite a few time from the airport to confirm the address but nobody was attending the reception desk. during our stay, seemed like they were short-staffed

i travelled to bohol w/my brother and our nephew and stayed in a room at l'elephant bleu. i would say that our room was a simple one but comfortable enough for the 3 of us. the beach is around 15 min walk , there is nearby small eatery w/c sells very good grilled chicken and longganisa at a very affordable price. the pizza in a nearby resto is also very yummy. overall, our stay was a memorable one.
