Location buuuutt..

Location, massage over water, cheap
We booked at the new beach resort because we thought it was just that.. A resort. Our room was awful, a broken a/c, a bed that was near broken, and pillows that were rocks. Our toilet broke the first time using it and they had to dig up the septic, and our fence broke the next day. The server told us they couldn't make any more smoothies, and that alcoholic drinks were all they served there at night so we ordered them, to see smoothies go out afterwards to a different table. Food came out wrong twice, and they would not let us re order something else. Really pushy travel agent. Over all an okay stay, and the massages were nice but we won't be returning.

Basic to be renew

Seashore, food, pool
We were pleased to stay here, especially during the New Years Eve. Food is excellent and the beach just wonderful. The owners could make a small effort to renew the rooms and the facilities, but we think they have already undertaken this purpose. Expect real and old basics in bedding, toiletry and furniture.

besides the beach
okay place to stay. the bedsheets were sandy. i was in the room besides the pool, the wifi has no internet connection. Need to connect to the other low strength intermittent AP to get some connection to upload my photos. the poolside bar will blast the music at night, so A6 A7 A8 would be a better choice.

Two pools great food

Pools, beach , food
There are a lot of bad reviews out here for this resort, but we booked it anyway. This is not a place to bring children, the on site bar/restaurant offers "big joints" and "bang lassi's" and plays a lot of Bob Marley if you get my drift. There is two pools at the resort one being really tucked away and quiet and the other being on the beach. This isn't a party resort, but this isn't a party island anyway. We are a couple in our late twenties and we enjoyed staying here - the food was REALLY good from the restaurant, but do not expect luxury. This is a rustic type of place and the accommodation reflects that. The women working are very grumpy but to be honest the rude people we have seen along our travels reflects her attitude. Poor Thai people have to suffer a lot with the brash and expecting nature of some European travellers.

Quitness, Next to a beach, Secluded from too many people
The stay was average, would i visit again, may be. There was a mistake with the booking upon arrival meaning only one room wa available so i had to share with a friend for one of the nights stays. Service seemed a bit poor. It felt very safe in its location and was nicely secluded if you wanted peace and quiet on a condition your room wasn't located next to the two bars.

Cozy little place right on the beach

Well run family business, attentive staff, right on the beach
A nice small place, nothing too fancy, but well run and attentive to your needs. From the pool to the ocean is about 10 metres!!! A nice beach too. The bar is fun. The food is reasonable quality. And not too expensive. Best of all they served a Christmas dinner for all the guests, free of charge, as their Christmas thing. It's not the Hilton, but a collection of reasonable OK sized bungalows set in gardens behind the beach. It adjoins 4 other similar properties and you are free to wander into the others and use their facilities, bars, restaurants which gives you a bit of choice.

Simple standard in an OK and quiet place

The cosy restaurant overlooking the sea, the massage lady who fixed my back, quiet and relaxing.
Lanta New Beach was an OK place to stay in. Having read all the negative reviews before I booked it I didn't have very high expectations. I wouldn't wanna say that it's THAT bad that some poeple described it, but I guess it depends on what you expect. First of all it is located below Long Beach in a very rocky location so the beach was very narrow and it was almost impossible getting in to the water when it was low-tide, however when it was high-tide you could easily go down for a dip. Pools were quite small but enough to cool you down and swim a little bit between sunbathing. The reception staff were not rude but not very service-minded either, facebooking, not looking up to help you straight away. The whole family lived in the reception and I got the bungalow opposite it so it was very loud 24/7, kids screaming, watching tv. Maybe this didn't affect the guests in the bungalows further away from the reception. The restaurant staff on the other hand were very friendly and happy, making conversation. The food selection was good, different set breakfasts or a la carte. Big variety of thai and western food which tasted great. The bedroom was OK, big and airy, a bit dark but clean when I got there. The bed was a bit hard but ok. The bathroom didn't look super fresh, the sink had a big crack, toilet leaked when flushing but still clean, good shower pressure and heater worked fine. Unfortunately they only cleaned the room once in the 8 days I stayed there. I think you had to tell the reception if you wanted it to get cleaned, but no one informed me about that, I saw the cleaning lady cleaning the other bungalows, so maybe because I had the cheapest room type this is how it worked. Overall I can recommend this hotel if you don't want to spend all your money on accommodation, and you're not depending on your accommodation for a good holiday. It is nothing fancy but enough if you just want a decent place to sleep in.

Pleasant; friendly staff and comfortable stay

Price, friendly staff, food
I am genuinely surprised to see so many negative reviews of Lanta new beach. From the moment I checked in, until I checked out the staff made the stay a pleasure. The rooms are simple, but that is all I needed. As for the lack of English, yes one staff member struggled at the restaurant. If you want to order something simply point to the menu, you will get what you want. Other than that all of the staff speak great English. This place is literally on the beach, take a few steps down from the restaurant and you are standing on Lanta's golden sand. It is paradise!

Nice resort, people on reception not so nice

Beach bar and two pools
We stayed just one night and moved to.a neighbouring resort for 6 nights. The resort seemed great but the people on reception were unfriendly (very business like / bordering on rude). The people at the beach bar were great, lots of fun.
