Great location but don't expect a warm welcome
Location- at the end of a small and quiet beach.
We had a very relaxing time and enjoyed the ambience of the hotel. Lovely rustic rooms and great views with easy access to the beach. Generally the hotel was a little run down and little effort was made to keep it clean and tidy. The room we stayed in was falling apart, but the main bar area was really nice to relax in and the fit perfectly into the beautiful surroundings. The staff were not rude, but they were not welcoming either. We were lucky if we got a grunt out of most of them which is unusual in Thailand. The food was pretty good, but we often ate in the restaurants on the main road behind the hotel where the quality and portion sizes were better and the price is lower. Overall I would recommend this hotel but don't expect luxury or a warm welcome.

Stroppy staff
Obviously high season and with budget prices expect to be made to feel undervalued by slap happy service from senior staff. Albeit nothing was too much trouble for the junior staff who were most obliging. Somewhat of a contradiction as would love to go back however feel the impression was strong enough despite location humble dwelling and natural surroundings which is what we wanted.

Perfect little getaway
The location, its simplicity and the food.
We stayed in the 'small garden view' bungalows for 9 nights over New Year and it was perfect for us. It was very simple, raised up on stilts, the bungalow was just made of wood and bamboo, with gaps looking down onto the vegetation below. Sometimes we were joined by little insects, but it truly was like being in nature. The mattress was comfortable, with a huge mosquito net over it to keep anything out. There is no glass in the windows so you get the breeze (but also noise from neighbours if they're not respectful). No, we didn't have a sea view but it was 30 seconds away. We'd spend afternoons lying in our hammock reading out books. The only downside is that over New Years it is very hot and in the heat of the day, the fan didn't quite cut it. But it was perfect in the night. The sea front cafe had great wifi and the staff were always helpful. The food is a little more expensive than restaurants behind on the main street, but you get what you pay for - good quality food with an amazing view. I can't recommend this place enough for people who don't want super luxury, but just want simplicity.

Lovely caban on the beach
Beautiful caban, on the beach, nice area close to Old Lanta town and South beaches
Really pleasant stay, but the bar/restaurant is really expensive, breakfast is 2x more than other places and not that good

Unfriendly and unconvenient
Our request for picking up from the pier was ignored. As we arrived there was no welcome or any hospitality. Staff is only business-focussed. We wanted to drink and eat sth but were just ignored. The owner was sitting on her desk, counting the bills and the money. We asked for hammocks three times, the answer was: everybody is busy! The bungalows itself look nice and for those who like sleeping in nature between beetles, cockroaches and mega big spiders (all of them in our room!) it's maybe the right adress. The location direct at the beach is also nice, but it isn't suitable for swimming because of the rocks. During the night it rained into the house on our bed and also our stuff like clothes, iphone etc. got wet. We booked two nights but left after one horrorfying sleepless night. The unfriendly owner didn't even want to call us a taxi. Her answer again: Everyone is busy. The restaurant as well as the bungalows are overpriced. We found better ones for a cheaper price. Would never go to this place again!

A really nice spot tight on the beach
Location, Sunset and original room
This place we found through Lanta River Sand Resort and although the criticism about the friendlyness of the owners were not good, we decided to go there and it was no disappointment at all.The place, we stayed at a Lanta River Sand Resort was really nice and "clean" what you can expect from an "environmental friendly" home. Means you can have some animals if you do not take care but for us, we did not experience beside some little crabs in the bathroom. But now rats, snakes, ants or anything else. staying at the hammock at the sunset is amazing and very romantic! The beach directly at the spot is rocky but when you go 50 metres farer, there are no rocks but a beautiful beach. About the unfriendly owners, we cannot confirm this at all. there were helpful and we can really recommend this spot to everybody. The area itself offers a lot of possibilities to enjoy holiday and we can also recommend a dive! If you fancy bio food, just eat there directly at the spot, otherwise you can find plenty of alternatives just around the corner. We can also recommend a short excursion by scooter to Lanta Oldtown to the "Beautiful Restaurant" which offers great seafood, really "in" the sea (guest area is build on stakes in the sea).

Fantastic location and chilled atmosphere
Location, beautiful Eco-rooms/lodges, beach
The beach was beautiful and not very busy, white sand, some rocks in sea so not an easy swim but able once passed them! nice chilled places to eat on a med-low budget (95B a meal) just a short walk or higher end resorts for restaurant dining (350B). We were ill on arrival so gave us the respite needed to fully recover, staff lovely too.

Give it a wide birth!
nice location
Poor. Firstly we arrived and the room that we were allocated was right next to the resort next door which played loud music until 1am. This was supposed to be a peaceful resort. We asked to be moved next morning. The staff are not very helpful and the whole operation was completely chaotic. The food in the restaurant is nice but the service is hapazard. I think that they really need to get their act into gear. In the four nights that we stayed in our second hut they only cleaned it once after I asked them 3 times for the cleaner. In the end I bought our own toilet cleaner! The thing that finished us off however was that the mislayed our passports. I asked if they had a safe for the passports and they said yes. On the last morning they could not find our passports and started to look in draws and staff handbags and rooms! Clearly they had no safe. We were getting more and more anxious and the staff accused us of not giving them our passports. They were eventually found but this was the final straw for us. Unless this resort has a complete change of management my advice is to give it a very wide birth!
