Nice place, free breakfast

Van taxi available, Nice looking, Decent furnishings
3.6
The hotel is lovely inside, allows pets, has a nice balcony at overlooking the backyard where they serve free breakfast until 10am. They offer a van taxi service too. The rate is negotiable, but reasonable. A short walk to the main street (Rue Asean), and you can walk to some eating places or flag down a tuk tuk and go down to the river front market area for about 80 bhat. It'll cost you more to return. Only problem was that they didnt remove the opened soap bar and the use towel from the guest prior to us. Also, the locals street dogs were having some kind of fight late at night which kept us up the second night.

Architecturally Charming, Peaceful location!

Charming rooms, spacious and very clean. Large verandah dining area, and gardens for a sense of tranquility and nature in the centre of a busy city.
3.1
Be aware that the advertised 'Pool" does not exist anymore though. A big disappointment on arrival. However, after voicing my disappointment, the Manager & Staff did all they could to supply me with an alternative and arranged for me to swim at a neighbouring hotel at no cost to myself. Not the same as having a pool at your back door, but I appreciated the effort and accepted the comprimise. They also supplied a courtesy bus to take me into the city centre each night for dinner, and get me safely home.

Le Calao Vientiane Hotel
1.1
