Great place for a family holiday!!
Easy access to the hotel's private beach, with fitness centre and resort style pool area all within complex, La Grandeur is a perfect place to unwind for a few day in the sun. Staff were fantastically helpful and despite the hotel being arguably in need of a little updating in places, it still has the air of a well run hotel.

Hotel that treats AGODA customers as third class guest
I was in Balikpapan with my grand-children for a long holiday. I first stayed in Aston, (Ok), then Gran Senyiur (Ok), and Le Grandeur was the last hotel. I called from Gran Senyiur Hotel at about 10 am. to reconfirm my booking, and asked about the possibility of early check-in. The staff told me that early check-in was not possible, to which i did not complain. But when I arrived with my little grand-children at 4 pm, 2 hours later then agreed check-in time., a lady (recepcionist) told me that I still have to wait for about 1 hour, while at the same time they give rooms to guests without pre-booking. It was clear to me that they treat guest who made reservation by AGODA as third class guest. At last they gave me room, with facilites far below the advertised room. I recommend Agoda to reconsider putting this hotel in their list.

Good hotel for bussines trip.
Had been staying here for almost 4 years during my buss. trip to Balikpapan. Food is excellent. Facilities are top notch. Slight farther away from city centre but within 15mins walking distance. Besides beach.

This hotel has seen better days
The restaruant, foyer and bar area of Le Granduer is very grand. The standard falls sharply as you go up. My room and bathroom were not in very good shape, needed a clean and also redecorating. On my second night of two a very large cockroach flew across the room. I was not impressed. I wouldn't stay here again.

I've booked a room at Le Grandeur to celebrate my sister wedding at May 8th 2016. at first i'm requesting a room with single bed which reply by the FO man that my booking only applicable for a twin bed room, and if i want a single bed i need to upgrade it into a club room which cost double the cost i've paid for the standard room. i refuse the option. then i request them to join the twin bed into one, as usually do on other occasion, as i don't want to sleep on different bed with my husband. then he replied that i need to pay another cost for this services, and i reject the cost. then he give me an option to re do the bed by myself, which i refused. i've said, this is the first time a hotelier ask me an additional cost only to ask a single bed and to redo the bed by my self. if this is not my sister wedding, i'm surely will not stay at the hotel as my kids need to rehearsal their part as a flower girl/boy that night which i feel a bit convenience if we don't have to rush in the morning to prepare the things. at last, a lady come in to the Reception and ask the FO boy another room with a single bed. i heard she mention to swift somebody else room with mine. we go upstair to bring the things, and found out that i get a smoking room with smelly air. if this is not a room in front of my kids room i mostly will ask another room with better condition. the bed linen smell of smoke. this is really not a condition i saw on the ads
