Friendly staff, cute & quaint bungalows, peaceful surroundings
2/27 The resort is located quite a bit away from Walking Street but Joe, the manager at the resort would offer rides whenever he was free and he was hospitable in general. Even on foot, it doesn't take too much time to get to the nearby beaches. In fact, pretty much everything on the tiny island is within walking distance. In the evening, there were heaps of tuk tuks lined up just around the corner. There is a small stretch of private beach in front of the resort, but not very many dining options. My bungalow was immaculate and built onto a steep hill. The bungalow was well kempt and had everything I needed, even toiletries and bottled water were provided. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you.

Quiet and nice location
simple but clean bungalow, laid under trees and therefore not too hot. The host was so friendly and funny! He was always ready to drive us where we wanted. Coffee in the morning Don't be afraid of animals such as geckos and ants within the shower.

Close to Sunset beach with the most amazing staff
Staff, location close to Sunset beach, calm and quiet
The breezy bungalows were basic but nice, however they were not cleaned nor towels changed during our four-day stay. Staff provided new towels when asked. Some of us also had problems with mosquitos, but there is a mosquito net and you should bring your repellent since it might be an issue in other places too. What makes the place cozy though is the staff, Joe would always give us a lift to Walking Street or back and ask if we were fine. He also showed us the nicest beaches and places to eat on the island. All in all, it's a bit too expensive considering value for money, but Ko Lipe in general seems to be more expensive than rest of the areas in Thailand.

Koh Lipe Sunset Beach Resort
The staff were excellent, it has access to a lovely quiet beach which has a bar and cafe on it.
Mosquito nets need to be larger (double on queen size bed) so take an electric mosquito killer.

Hotel review
It is certainly overpriced for what it is. For the price we paid there is no air conditioning, There is no common area or facility like a lounge for guests to gather. The path leading to the unit or chalet is not paved and not sheltered. Guests would definitely get wet when it rain. The very steep stairs to the unit has no railing or safety guards to hold on to when climbing up and down. At night,it gets very dark too. It might not be safe at all walking at night as there may be snakes or other aggressive animals lurking in the surrounding trees. Safety is a big issue here. If one slipped down the steps, he might suffer serious injury. The hotel is not attended by a group of full time staffs. The "reception" is practically deserted. It is so remote that there is nothing to eat nearby. The "road" out of the place in not paved, just a dirt path. In view of its remoteness, there is no intercom or phone in the room. In the case of emergency, you will be on your own. The room has a lot of mosquitoes. There is no way one can sit around without being stung. Due to this, leaving the windows open is impossible. Remember, there is no air conditioning.

Experience the tide
the sea view
The "brightest star" :-) of this resort is Joe, who runs the place. Always happy to help, take you for free and pick you up from the "town" with his "tuk tuk". The resort itself is situated on a hill, quite far from the walking street, so you have to count on Joe or taxi (priced per person) to get there (if only to get something to eat - the resort has no bar etc.), the walk is long and not really pleasant. We stayed at the wooden bungalow at the beach. The bungalow is spacious (with a bed "upstairs") and neat; towels, sheets and even the mosquito net smell nicely. In the evening the tide comes, the beach dissapears and you feel like you have the roaring sea at your doorstep. If you are not used to it, it can be hard to fall asleep. It’s very climatic though. The other "noise" issue is that the beach bungalow consist of two "apartments", separated by wooden wall, which - if you have got neighbours - creates privacy issues, because you can literally hear "everybody's everything". All in all it's worth staying at Joe's ;-) to experience sleeping in a wooden house directly at the sea.

Joe made it all worth while!
Joe, The beach, Joe
A lovely little place! The location was a little out from the main area. Though there was beautiful beach just down the cliff. The main thing that made this stay great was Joe. He could not do enough to help. Joe is the property manager!

A very basic room
Friendly staffs
It was a very peak season, hence we paid quite a high price for the room. It is just a very basic room, without aircond and mini fridge. It was quite hot during day time. The resort is quite a distance from the walking street, however Joe was very helpful to bring us out whenever we need to go out, he is very friendly and helpful.
