Disappointed Guest

Comfort, Generous with room amenities and shower
Disappointed. We feel the hotel is not well maintain. Could be better if the staff are friendlier.

Pleasant, privacy, comfortable

Not overcrowded, comfortable, clean
My first impression upon check in was pleasant, serve with welcome drink, greet by Jenny at reception who even came out personal to help to carry our luggage from my car, she take her job with great pride and make sure my family need is well taken care. The breakfast is good, near to beach(not private), nice swimming pool. This place is filled with lush greenery and pine tree, but the hotel staff done a good job to keep it clean up fallen leaf. Overall is a small venue but feel quite private as this is not a high density room hotel. Much more feel like staying in a high end condo with club facilities.

Beach, spacious room, speedy check-in/checkout.
The hotel was old, totally different from the pics. Though rooms were big (premier), the cleanliness wasn't there. There were dusty & ants were crawling in the closet where they placed the kettle & condiments. Though we rang for housekeeping for my parents' unit, they missed it as they saw a DND light on. I feel they shd at least leave a card to inform us that they came but DND sign was up accidentally, and should we want cleaning we could call them. My parents were unhappy. My folks did call but later canceled it due to inconvenience. It was a wet weather, the staff who swept & cleaned the pool areas was THE BEST! Kudos! Reception responded fast, laundry dept did come by to clarify some stuffs & their packing was pretty & neat. Recreational staff at beach were friendly, we paid RM250 for the water motorjet (not sure of the name). Gym was lacking, games room too. Quite rowdy when the wedding guests (kids) charged in & messed up the play area. Breakfast area was dusty, dead insects & stains on chairs & tables. Dead insects (huge ones) laid outside our hotel rooms, we had to ask the staff 3 times to clean up the carcasses. Insects stained the floors! We couldn't open our windows to get seabreeze/fresh air as the window edges were dirty. Smiles & greetings were lacking on staff faces except for those at the reception. The Japanese restaurant on L2 was a nice place to dine, not expensive but quantity & quality was there. We enjoyed by far! The hotel needs a lot of improvement. Breakfast was a bit expensive.

Hospitality is the name of the game

The staff, first of all, are outstanding. They put "hospitality" back in the hospitality industry. Hotel has been redeveloped but retains its old charm. Location is excellent.
We used to stay at the "old" Lone Pine before renovation and loved the intimate feel. That hasn't been lost. If you want glitz and glamour, this isn't the place for you. You'll find many more glamorous hotels but you will find it very hard to replicate the genuine friendliness and care provided by Lone Pine staff. From check-in to check-out, we felt like "guests", not just customers. This isn't an accident. It takes hard work, people who enjoy their job, and management that hasn't forgotten why people come to their hotel. The hotel feels like it's in a little wooded kampung beside the sea. The rest of the world goes on outside the gate. There are, it must be admitted, a few little maintenance jobs that need attention around the place but to mention this almost seems like nit-picking. If you like a quiet seaside hotel and staff the way you often wished to find them, try Lone Pine in Batu Ferringhi.

Holiday stay

Location, architecture and pool area
Was good but lacking in oferring more local cuisine. Staff were friendly and welcoming but did not appreciate an incorrect room service call after 12am that made me get out of bed and injure myself.
