Nice place to stay
Stayed there for 2 nights, 3 days, friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in the Ancient Suite, which was fantastic, beautiful landscape and gardens. Good to have a walk around in the morning. Facility was good. Food at Beach Bar was good. Would recommend people to stay at this resort if you travel to Phu Quoc.

food is terrible
ancient style
Staff is not well-trained with bad organisational transition of team works. We ordered thru night shift one and the day shift one didn't get information. Time consuming for that.

nice decor, nice pool and beach area
room decor, property, breakfast
We stayed here over Dec 31/Jan 1 and the hotel was great, breakfast was great, our room was smaller, but nicely appointed with lots of wooden elements, the grounds are gorgeous, but there was a mandatory new Year Eve's party that we could not get out of. It was expensive, and because we booked so late we had our kids at another hotel, which meant we couldn't spend New Years Eve together without forgoing the mandatory celebration. They should have let us opt out, or had a much less expensive option.

Long beach resort - 4 night stay
Staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help with anything. The beach and pool area was very quiet and relaxing.
Staff were waiting at airport to take us to the resort. Check in went smooth. We stayed in an ancient deluxe room. Was pleased to see a cake and flower petals waiting for us in room due to us celebrating anniversary. Disappointed with old style TV. I think the resort may have been less than half full, so it was very quiet. Unfortunately every night dogs barked at around 4-5am waking us up. This was annoying. Breakfast was fairly standard mix of Asian/western buffet style. Staff extremely friendly. The pool was nice, perfect temperature and about 2m deep. Beach was extremely calm and also nice.. If you are there for beach / relaxing holiday then it is a good place to chill. Unfortunately the infrastructure on the island is poor.. Roads are bad, affecting any tour you go on. Lots of developments going up everywhere.. But staying just in the resort is pretty nice.. But I don't believe it is worth the money being charged for the rooms..

Great, good food and amazing beach!
Great beach, friendly staff, great accommodation
It was really amazing, I had great time with my boyfriend there so I would recommend for couple's stay in Phu Quoc. I would come back to this resort again as I love its antique design, the room was very comfortable though it is quite far from the beach (good for exercise though). I think the staff is very friendly, I don't understand why many people complained about the staff. Probably it was easier for me as I am Vietnamese. However, many of the staff are Filipinos so they would be able to communicate well in English.

It was a nice couple weekend retreat.
The nature around the hotel, the ancient ambietne of the resort, the relatively low price.
We had a very nice stay at the Resort and enjoyed the quiet nature around a lot.

Let down
The friendliness of the staff, the beach can't think of a third
What a nice place this could be, no should be. This is hotel resort is rated four stars, it is situated and looks like five stars, it performs like two stars at best. The resort is absolutely beautiful, set out in groups of 'Ancient Houses'. The architecture is high end with a great deal of carved wood, so different, possible unique. So why let it get so run down? The wood is cracking and splitting for want of treatment against the elements, the paint work is moldy and flaking. The beach end of the resort resembles a building site, one that has been abandoned as there is nothing going on. The rooms are wonderful, to look at. They are dark due to the overhanging roof structure but the lighting is such that you are never quite sure if you have it on or not! The bathroom is spacious and quirky with it's all wood tubs and bowls and would be a very good feature if they were kept well maintained. Two requests to fix the shower-head, it hand to be hand held as it had a tendency to drop from it's holder while in use, went unanswered. The staff, we feel so sorry for the staff, almost entirely Philippine students on work experience. To a single person they were kind, friendly and willing. They run around without guidance. It seemed like we and the staff had arrived together and were finding out how things worked and where things were together. We sincerely hope that each and every one of the staff we met have another chance to further their studies at a proper hotel run by a proper management group. The whole place lacks atmosphere, there is no finish what ever you do there is always a little something missing. Play pool- balls drop onto the floor as the pockets are worn through. Run marathon, organised at the resort, finish, right next to the bar, order cold beer - sorry sir finished already! Order wine wait 20 min. for it to arrive. Buy BBQ dinner package charged extra for the fish! This place is the pits
