It is horrible to live in Lyon d'or hotel
The hotel is completely dirty. The corridor had the bad smell and it was badly lit. When we entered the room, all the room was full of dust. The hotel is in need of complete refurbishment because it was very messy. Out rented room was full of spider's webs. The smell of the room was unpleasant. The toilets was unclean and the light was too dark. The window is full of dust. The internet signal was very week. We have never seen the blankets like a worn tower. They didn't seem to have been change from the last occupants.

Do not stay here

Lyon d'or Hotel and Restaurant
We stay in Phnom Penh often and never pre book. We decided to pre book this time and I somehow mistakenly booked this hotel. I dared not go into the bathroom bare foot and I slept fully clothed as I didn't trust the cleanliness of the sheets. There was a used condom still in the bin! The club next door plays music until 3am which would be ok except for the ridicilously high level of bass that reverberates through the rooms. The entire building smells musty and damp. We didn't try the restaurant because there was nothing that made us want to stay in the hotel longer than necessary. There are far nicer and cheaper hotels in the same area. I complained on arrival due to the standard of the room and because the online rate is more expensive than the walk-in rate and they did give us a bigger room but it didn't improve our stay.

Earplugs Needed

Nothing except the location
If you want to listen to music every night booming through the walls from the pub/club next door till the early hours of the morning this is the place to stay.. I stayed here for 4 nights caught up with my sleep through the day location was good on the riverside.. Wi-fi was poor no chance of getting a signal in your room even sitting in the lobby under the wi-fi box was slow! Rooms need a clean and paint job seems they just leave them overall not a enjoyable stay! Staff seemed friendly and helpfull.

dirtiest room we ever had

that its near to the riverside is the only good thing!
We didn't test, because the whole place was so dirty. Breakfast was not included anyway...

bar and resturant. Thats it.
This hotel must have been built in the 40s, and has not been painted since. Rooms were in very poor condition. 1st one I got, AC did not work. Second room hot water heater did not work. My buddies 1st room, the roof was falling down!!!! The paint in the rooms was either plastered over or pealing off the wall. Restaurant and bar were good with 2 for one happy hour 6PM-8PM, and restaurant had great French dishes.

the price of fifteen dollars is nice. The staff

Proximity to the Tonle Sap river with a view from the small porch. The staff can be very helpful. The location is great, good walking along the river.
It was fine. The drawbacks are music noise drifting in at night stopping only at three Pm. the room attendant is nice but sorry to say it not hightly motivated. The cleanliness of the room and public areas is not so good. But it is overbalanced by: they let me use the telephone, they take credit cards, they made coffee for me from my own pot, the local newspaper is available and good, the food is very, very good and it has a French ambience. Give it a try.
