Spacious Room with Reasonable Price

Spacious Room, Readily available multiple power points and Strategic Location
My stay was satisfactory for the price. However the hotel management need to improve the lift service as well as the main electrical wiring which looks unsafe.

Value for money

Good location and good price.
We stayed at MGM for one night and it was good for one night sleep. The hotel lobby looks quite shabby but the room was clean and ok. Its probably not the best option if you are staying for more than one night. The staff was very helpful.

short staying in yangon

Good location and great breakfast
At first, friend help to book another one by walking in, is quite a newly build hotel, but 2 star, so we decide to book via agoda, and due to past experience, wanted to book at M.G.M. Great rate of staying, but is such a old building , last renovate on 2007 for level 10 and 11, when we touch down is like a bit old and not well maintain. Luckily location is still being an advantage for staying. Another thing is lift is not operated all the time. some how hotel switch off maybe for saving, so bit kind of inconvenient . and lower level is renovate during staying, so even thought there is walk way, but some is block , so can only call receptionist to operate lift.

Unpleasant Experience
It was a bad experience. We did not proceed to check in. I am complaining and demands a refund. MGM Hotel is not supposed to operate on that condition.

Basic. Good restaurant in front

Room size, staff and price
Good locations. 15 minutes walking to FMI Centre and Downtonwn. 25 minutes walking to Shawn Dagon Pagoda. Restaurant in fron Shan Yoe Yar is perfect Myanmar kitchen. Basic breakfas Hotel room was nice, with desk, good shower and clean. Hotel conditions look no so good, but the room in the 10th floor was very nice. Price from/to Airport around USD 10 and 45 minutes.

Solid option

Price, location, fundamentals
I had a good 2 night stay. I booked the first night online through my phone from the lobby for a better rate ($28 after fees). The second night they just gave me the same rate over the counter after a short negotiation. Room was clean enough; A/C worked well; wifi was a little slow, especially in my room (but at least it did work in the room); no mosquitos in room, but some in breakfast area; elevator was pretty slow; some construction underway made stairs unavailable (without some rocky tricky steps), but no noise from construction (didn't appear to be much action on that front); breakfast was hot and included some good vegetables and eggs; service was very friendly and motivated to help with any problems; lobby sold water (~40 cents for 24 oz.), soda (?), and beer ($1 for 24 oz. Myanmar Beer) 24/7. Location is solid too (~15 minute walk to Chinatown 19th st.). For the price, I couldn't ask for much more in all fairness. Solid option.

The amount it cost was telling

Cost. Air Conditioning. Cost.
Not the best place. The shower/toilet water did not drain well leaving stagnant water. The walls were very thin so you could hear everything going on in the hotel. The curtains were also very thin, so did not prevent light from entering in the morning. Food was average, nothing to brag about, but it was safe.

No convenient socket, no desk for laptop, broken

Breakfast(ok), location(good),service(ok)
Bad experience. It's like everything is broken. Even the chest and cupboard. Light of bathroom stop working in last day I was there. Bed is okay, but they don't clean it after I left room for working. One aircon was not working either. Well, it is hardly to find a good point if say it is 3 stars hotel.

My worst experience staying in an hotel in Asia

The staff was friendly. The hot water in the shower worked.
Terrible. The hotel seems to be under construction and didn't seem like a place that should be open to the public. When I checked into my room, it was not clean with an unmade up bed which made me extremely uncomfortable because I could tell other guests had just checked out of the room. The new room they assigned me to smelled of mildew and honestly my experience at M.G.M ruined my experience in Yangon. It was the third of three hotels that I stayed there and honestly I wanted my money back. The key holder was broken. It was a very humbling experience to say the least
