Basic good holiday

quiet, cleanliness, location
Friendly welcome and attention. Food great, accommodation basic but good, would recommend to anyone and found our neighbours had been coming to Agonda for seven and thirteen years respectively. I would love to go back.

Location. Indian food at Madhu Restaurant. Bathroom.
We stayed at Aqua Bay, part of Madhu - same same but different. Apart from the frustration of unreliable Internet and the noisiness of resident barking puppies, we had a wonderful 9-night stay. The beach is awesome, the sunsets are great, and Agonda is peaceful. Skip Palolem and Patnem; head directly to Agonda!

Position of beach huts, service, food
Very good, had no complaints at all we were large group of 18 and they done there bet for us, would come again. We just had major problems at Mumbai airport if anyone travels make sure it is with one airline all the way Virgin gave us horrible service.

Goas best beach

Location, Restaurant and Staff
We stayed here in March after a month of backpacking around Rajasthan and were ready to flop onto a beach. Agonda is probably one of the quietest beaches in Goa and is an absolute delight. The hotel staff as per many other reviews are absolutely brilliant, the restaurant is easily the best with the bonus of being a very short walk from the hut. As for the huts themselves they are indeed right on the beach, and we had a sea facing cottage, that was an absolute joy to be in. They had everything you need including a comfy bed and fridge, but they are beach huts, so don't come here expecting 3 star luxury. That being said, we extended our 4 night stay to a 10 night one, luckily we were able to do so as the season was ending, otherwise the bookings here look to have been pretty solid during the season. The place had a relaxed feeling, with quite a nice mixture of age groups and nationalities.

Overrated, basic accommodation.

Efforts of staff to please. Proximity to beach.
We arrived expecting a garden facing hut which we booked as this was the only one shown on Agoda which could accommodate three people. There was nothing 'garden facing' about it. It faced the back of the next row of huts - no problem but just declare this in the title. The huts were so expensive for what they turned out to be. For a plywood hut with basic bed - sheet covering bed, no sheet to sleep under, bathroom with no toilet roll, toilet seat or flush, I would not pay for this in South Goa you can get a beautiful room. The staff, credit to them, offered us other options when they found out how disappointed we were, moving us to a room with a flushing toilet. They were very kind when they knew they were getting something out of us - which is probably why people return time and time again. Restaurant/bar is very sweet, right on the beach. We didn't eat here but imagine the food would be good. Overall, would not return! We moved after one night - got our money back for the next two, heading up the beach to someone else for the same price.

Satisfaction guaranteed

Great location, great service, great food
Had a great time. Got a room right on the beach even though we booked a garden view cottage. The staff took good care of our needs. Great food at the restaurant. Highly recommended

Ultimate relaxation

Staff, Proximity to beach, Food
We initially booked 7 nights here, upon arrival we immediately booked another 5 nights. The owner came over and greeted us on the first day, immediately making us feel completely welcome. The staff are attentive and the service is prompt, we rarely ventured further that the Madhu restaurant for food because it is one of the better eateries on the beach. The room is clean upon arrival with regular room cleaning. The bed is large and super comfortable with a well made mosquito net surrounding it. The only thing you might need adjusting to is the bathroom, which is separated only by a wall. But in truth it was barely a consideration for us. Go for the beach-facing huts without hesitation. The view is unbeatable. We had a brilliant time in Agonda staying at Madhu. It was the perfect setting for a relaxing beach holiday. If we returned, we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Booked a room at Madhu but got a room at Aqua Bay

Quiet location and close to the beach
First impression wasn´t the best as I waited more than 3 hours to find some staff in order to check in. Secondly I couldn´t get the room I had pre booked from home, but was transferred to the neighbouring huts at Aqua-Bay. This however was perfectly fine as it was a nice but basic hut still located on the beach. I ended up staying there 10 days in total and loved the location and the friendly staff there. Although friendly, they weren´t always as helpful as one could have wished for, as I never managed to get my bed sheets changed nor get clean towels in spite of asking for this several times. But still loved this place and the tranquility here, beach is fantastic and some nice restaurants near by as well. Madhus restaurant was not among the best - even experienced ordering french fries one day which were served still frozen, straight from the bag. But nice people and a lovely place to stay if you look for some relaxation time :-)
