Heaven on earth

Staff, location, friendliness
From the moment Mr. Sunny picked us up, the Madulkelle Tea and Eco lodge exceeded expectation! The staff is friendly and anticipates your wants and needs as if they were in your head. The location is breathtaking and meticulously cared for. You are able to experience the many things that make the Sri Lankan people and culture so amazing all through one small, perfectly curated lodging experience deep in the hill country. The pictures, amazing as thy are, cannot touch the experience of seeing it all in person. I not only would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, serene vacation experience, but am already planning on how to get back myself as soon as possible. Thank you so much to everyone at the Madulkelle Tea and Eco Lodge for such an amazing experience!

Great view!natural environmnt but clean!

Mountain view. Quiet. Spa.
The room is basically a big tent, but facilities are complete. Shower is good in spite of location up on the mountain. View is just great. And u are not seeing it from a window but just inside it! Very quite and natural. Enjoy sunrise on the bed. Plus SPA spot is amazing

The view, the tented cottage with a balcony to enjoy tea , listening to the sounds of nature
The view, being out in nature, and feeling the peacefulness will surpass any expectations you gave. The staff is friendly. If you want to escape to rejuvenate - this is the place. A piece of heaven

Don't tell everyone!!

Wonderful stay, one of the best places I have ever been!!! The lodge was pretty noisy in the night in the wind and rain so wear you're ear plugs. Would love to visit again

Beautiful eco lodge

great staff, beautiful tea fields and eco lodge
We really enjoyed our time at the eco lodge. The accommodation itself was simple but great, comfy bed with a verandah, toilet and great shower. The environment is so peaceful, the pool is stunning, we got a great massage overlooking the tea plantations and enjoyed eating in the restaurant each day. We also booked a 2 hr walk with Manilla who works at the lodge and he showed us around the grounds - it was a real highlight of the trip. We learnt a lot about tea, the land and the people of Sri Lanka, he was a wonderful guide and very informative. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that we didn't realise the lodge is quite a long way from Kandy, about 1.5 hrs from the town so keep in mind that you aren't really staying in Kandy. That was a little disappointing as it meant we spent all our time at the lodge and ate all meals there - food was good but would have been nice to be able to explore the town. Overall, I would recommend the lodge.

Stunning setting, great staff.

Location, Location, Location
The journey up to Madulkelle isn't for the faint-hearted and the location of the lodges means you'll need to be happy to walk up a few stairs, but boy is it worth it! The view that greets you every morning as you open up your luxury tent flaps more than makes up for it. Food was tasty and well priced which is a relief as you really are at the mercy of the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the local area and the tea factory. The kitchen team also did a great cooking class which was the best meal we had there. As with everywhere in SriLanka the staff and locals were lovely.
