The most beautiful place I've ever stayed at
The view is breathtaking and the tents are very comfortable and well equipped. The ride from Kandy takes 1,5 along winding roads. Last 3km one will need to take a tuctuc as the road is too narrow.

What a hideout from the hectic world out there! First off, to be fair The road leading to this estate is indeed a bit tough - concrete falling apart creating dents everywhere. But once you reach the estate, it's all worth it! The view is spetacular and the lodges are simple yet beautifully decorated and equipped with everything necessary. Staff and the restaurant are both delightful. Only downside is the noise at night due to the wind and rain. Sleep with your earplugs if you are a light sleeper! The only downside

Unique Experience
We enjoyed a lot our one night stay at this place. Really unique experience and awesome view. Food was awesome too! They have fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden. Would love to come back again. Only negative thing is the road conditions to reach the place. Road conditions are not suitable for a car. Hope this will fix in future!

Beautiful hidden gem
I can only talk in superlatives about this place. Great location (takes 5 hours to get there from Colombo but definitely worth it), fantastic stuff (really!), quiet, peaceful (except the "noise" of nature but that's why one goes, no?), food is very good (loved their own vegetable garden, you can taste the freshness in the veggies), bungalows are spacious, etc etc. The only thing I would do differently is to travel in a different month not in May as it's rainy season and although it's beatiful no matter what, it's probably better when it's sunny and not wet.

Amazing experience
Great experience staying in amongst the tea. We couldn't get enough of the view. Friendly & exceptionally helpful staff, would definitely recommend this lodge to anyone looking looking for a get away retreat.

Beautiful Setting but difficult to get to
Very nice setting with amazing views. Took us well over an hour to travel 5kms on a road that is not fit for a regular car. The road is in terrible shape. Definitely an eco experience. But that does not excuse the pool that was very green with algae and highly chlorinated. The food was very good and staff were very nice and accommodating.

Gorgeous hotel but difficult to get there!
We spent 2 nights with our 3 month old at Madulkelle and it was a wonderful hotel, with delicious food, beautiful views, comfortable "glamping" accommodations and a wonderfully friendly staff. We loved waking up to the sun rise over mountains and Ceylon tea fields. That being said, the road to get there is in HORRIBLE condition. It may be only twenty-something Kms from Kandy, but expect to take more than an hour to get there because you can't go at more than 10-20kmph much of the way on a very narrow, unpaved, and often steep and rocky "road". 4x4 recommended to get there. All in all it was worth the trip, just don't expect to go anywhere while you're there!

Tea Country Heaven
Location, room facilities, views
A wonderful stay in a superbly fitted lodge with views of the tea plantations, mountains and the clouds in the evening sunset is something I will never forget. The cloud formations in the morning sun were stunning, I felt I was on top of the world. Looking forward to going back.......
