With just 26 rooms, guests of the Magnolia Court Hotel will be treated to the warm, friendly service that is missing from the impersonal, multi-story hotels of the downtown area. It is a suitable hotel for both the tourist and business visitor, and the property features modern, well-appointed rooms with tasteful furnishings and stylish, sophisticated decor. Close to all of Melbourne’s attractions, including Australia’s iconic cricket-ground - The MCG, The National Tennis Center, and the historical streets of Melbourne’s inner-east with its many preserved Victorian heritage buildings, charming cafes, and quiet, local bars, visitors will just love its location.

Major renovations needed.

It was close to the hospital. Staff were friendly. Breakfast included.
This hotel is in need of repairs and a makeover. The heaters were terrible. The bathroom towel rack fell off. The curtains came off when we tried to pull them open. The place smelt musky, the floors squeaked. Half the light globes were missing. Overall not a great place to stay. This is not up to my standard and would rather pay extra to get comfort.

Value for Money

Location, service, ambiance
Very pleasant stay. The hotel was in a very convenient location for our purposes. Walking distance to the city and many other attractions. The area is old style Melbourne. The hotel itself fits in with the neighborhood and has a very pleasant ambiance. Service was fantastic, and the staff were flexible to our non-standard requirements. The rooms are not luxury by any means but were comfortable with all facilities. The restaurant is attractive and would be even more so in summer with the outdoor sitting area in use

Overnight stay

Great location, pleasant surroundings, quiet area
Bed was slightly springy and lumpy, but tolerable for a short stay. Shower was good, but a tight fit for a larger person. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very basic, but appetising.

Needs some attention

We were a little disappointed at the condition of the hotel and the value for money. If you are looking for a cute and lovely little hotel for two this probably isn't it.

An ordinary hotel in a nice part of Melbourne

Free wifi, a lovely period building (with an ugly 80s extension), well located on Powlett St East Me

I was not entirely happy with hotel overall

its proximity to the event i attended, clean, relatively quiet
I am not happy with the 'buffet' breakfast. I have dietary requirements and all i was offered was four slices of white bread and the only spread available was butter. The towels are very, very thin and don't absorb much water. The hot water took a long time to heat up enough to shower. I booked a twin room (two single beds) and they gave us a double instead. they were only too happy to exchange the room for what had been booked.

shory stay, pleasant and close to city.

proximity to city, breakfast,a window that actually opened!
I stay at this hotel quite often. Its close to everything I need. I like the oldness of the hotel and the friendly staff. Its great to have abreakfast included in the tariff.
