One of the oldest hotels in the city, built in the early 1900s and retaining its colonial charm and architecture, Maidens Hotel is located in a North Delhi residential area. Set on eight acres of gardens and near the historical Red Fort, the hotel has spacious rooms with high ceilings and is a short distance to the famous shopping center, Chandni Chowk, with its quaint bazaars and meandering lanes. The hotel's swimming pool is a beautiful oasis of calm in a busy, noisy city. The main dining room takes you back 100 years and serves Indian and Western food. A beautiful garden terrace serves drinks and light snacks, and the small, intimate Calvary bar is an early 19th century treat. Superb hotel in Old Delhi

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room we had was great, the character of the hotel was charming.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the hotel - it was an oasis of colonial style charm in the heat of Delhi. We have no hesitation in recommending and if we return to Delhi this would be our first choice Hotel. The hotel is about 250m from a metro stop (we were given free passes by the hotel) so getting around is easy although the staff arranged taxis for us when we needed (to and from the airport and a day trip to Agra and the Taj Mahal). Breakfast buffet was good and the restaurant also - it would have been nice if wifi had been given free, but that's about the only minus point we'd give. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We upgraded to a suite (which wasn't so expensive) and this added to the experience with a little bit of luxury. All in all a great place to stay - character, friendliness, cleanliness......... and all very reasonably priced.

Great hotel, friendly staff!

Friendliness and helpfulness of staff, comfort or rooms and food quality
Booked online I was a little unsure what to expect but Maidens Hotel certainly exceeded whatever expectations that I had. From the friendliness of the staff to the comfort of the room and the quality of the food (OK, we only had the buffet breakfast), Maidens was all I could have hoped for after twelve days of cycling from Leh to Manali. As our last stop before returning to Australia we could not have been given a better send off. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff could not have been more helpful. Being the middle of summer conditions outside were hot and humid but within the hotel, and within the room, everything was cool and refreshing. I could not have asked for a better place to stay, far more personal than the big international hotel resorts and I will certainly stay again one day.

Pleasant, but far from central city, shopping ....

Quiet ....
Can't help the location, but needs better business center, and at least one shop with post cards, minor items, etc. Greatest lack is not having an outside window on nearly all the rooms.

Extremely Pleasant

Staff attentiveness, Cleanliness, Tranquility
When we arrived, dusty, exhausted and weary, we were pleasantly surprised with the reception we received the moment we entered the hotel. It was as if the staff instinctively knew how tired we were. Checking into the hotel was a breeze and in short, our three day stay at the Maidens was wonderful. Apart from the breakfast service that left some things to be desired, we cannot recommend the Maidens Hotel enough to any discerning traveler!!!

Haven in Delhi

colonial style, gardens, tranquility
Great place if you are looking for respite from Delhi's mayhem. The hotel has great colonial architecture, large comfy rooms and good staff. It is 5 minutes' walk from Civil Lines metro, which means the north Delhi location is no problem. On the downside, food is very expensive, so I ate out, except for for breakfast which was included in my deal. A great place to come back to from Delhi's heat and chaos.
