A safe haven in downtown Makati

Centrally located, clean rooms
8.3
I always stay here when I travel to the Philippines. It`s clean and affordable so overall a pretty good value. It`s a quiet, safe haven from the craziness outside (Burgos St. in downtown Makati).
Hotel Feature Tip: The hotel staff are happy to call a cab for you, so you don`t have to walk out to the corner and get mobbed by pushy street vendors and feral street children begging for change. They also have a hotel car/driver which is better than a txi if you want to go somewhere in the city (like Mall of Asia).

Old but sufficient

Good location for "red light" district

The pictures on the website does not accurately reflect the condition of the hotel. The hotel may have been a 5 star ... Maybe 20 years ago. It is now old and the room and facilities clearly show its wear and tear. The gym only has broken equipment; none of the electrical equipment worked (e.g., treadmill, bicycle, step master) so it wasn't even plugged in! The pool was dirty. I would not advise swimming in that pool. However, if a room is all that you need then this hotel provides the basic needs. The room was fine (TV, AC, fridge all worked well) and the staff was friendly. And, if the red light district is what you want then this hotel is perfect since it is centrally located among all the bars.

Nice place to relax and stay.

good service.
8.3
Its almost like of a 5 star hotel. Rooms are big and clean and very near to the commercial areas. Though the building is quite old it does still satisfy me.

Great location and very good price

Neac CBD, shopping and entertainment - along makati Avenue
7.7
This is the best place to stay if you plan to work around Makati Area. The price is one of the cheapest in town with standard quality of a three star hotel - perfect to have a good rest after a busy and tiring day. Many entertainment areas around, just 1 to two minutes walk from the hotel.
Restaurant Tip: If you like to unwind for drinks and chill out, there are a lot of nice places to go at Maakati avenue - just 2 -3 minutes walk.

Very much OK Hotel

The attitude of the Staff counts most. Their warmth in greeting guests is really above average. Very clean inside hotel. The location is ok for night life single traveller.

Makati Hotel

Near nightlife area of Makati
5.3
This hotel is well located in Makati near the nightlife area. The rooms are small and stink you need to upgrade to a non smoking room for 1500 P /day. The breakfast cost to much and there is not much selection not even orange juice. You need to deposit P2000 for any eventual supplements just make shure you get it back.
Nightlife Tip: Filling station restaurant is a must for any traveller

Basic hotel for solo traveler in Makati area.

Basic and clean room close to various night life centers.
5.3
Nothing much extraordinary about this hotel that becomes expensive for the room quality. Though, it remains clean.

Value for money

Near the Central District of Makati, eating place shopping and bar. The room is spacious in the Penthouse.
8.3
It was a pleasant stay and most of all value for money but for fussy guest and foreigners this may not be the hotel that you are looking for, it is difficult to take a taxi and if you are not familar with the public transport may be difficult unless the hotel will arrange a transport for you. I live nearby, in Mandaluyong about 5 KM only, I stayed there to save the trouble after the wedding of my brother and accompany otehr family memebers from province.

Not quite the centre of Makati

French toast at breakfast
6.3
We heard that Makati was safe and interesting for a two night stay and picked a cheaper option in that area, the Makati palace hotel. It was hard to pick a hotel because of the huge price range and it was difficult to use that as a guide. The reviews weren't great for this hotel though but it looked nice in the pictures. Arriving late on a Friday night meant that we realized very quickly that its position on the fringe of Makati leaves it open to the locational delights of any hotel on a fringe, a red light district.... There was a local wedding on the Saturday and the bride stayed at our hotel, I only hope the g string wearing strippers crawling home were not in her wedding shots as they were in our holiday snaps! The rooms smelt, the breakfast was expensive and the location was not great. Overall, I think that you can get a safer, cleaner hotel for your money in Manila and one with a better location. I also point out that I have backpacked around many south East Asian countries and don't have super high standards. This room would have cost 1/6th of the amount in Vietnam for example and would have been far cleaner...
Shopping Tip: During the day we were able to walk to the centre of makati and further to the shops as well. Manila residents suggested not to do this at night as a few places on the journey are too quiet and unsafe at night...
