Great budget hotel
Older budget hotel with a friendly family atmosphere. 24 hour restaurant/room service where you can get a full meal and drink for 200 bhat / $6, swimming pool with sundeck and $6/hour massage parlor open until midnight. A few small stores, massage palors, restaurants in the area. Silom and sumkavit are a 40-100 taxi ($2-4) - you can walk but the heat makes it a big challenge. It helps to be open minded as it is straight and gay friendly with a few ladyboys too. Very safe as the police often eat at the restaurant. Wifi is not free but just a couple dollars per day. Clean basic rooms.

Better than its rating!
For a 2 star hotel this is a great little stay, cheap, clean and great staff! I did 3 nights here and loved the AirCon and bath after 5 weeks in the jungle! Well worth the money. Not as central as I would have preferred but you're right near the sky train station so easy to get more into the city. Loved it!

Good location for another view of Bangkok
Lots of foreign vistors gravitate to Silom, the Riverside or Sukhumvit. I like to stay on occassion at this hotel in a quiet area of Bangkok. Its definitely not a 5-star hotel but what you are paying for, you get. The subway is about a 7 minute walk away and there are many good little restaurants in the area. Another gem, Lumpini Park, is very nearby and not to be missed. The staff is friendly and the restaurant on site is quite good. They also maintain the pool very well. It looks like they are updating the hotel somewhat. The rooms are old-fashioned but clean. My only complaint is that in this day and age where most hotels give you free wifi, they charge for it. I used my Thai-dedicated cell phone to get my Internet. For the GLBTQ traveler, this is a good location as you are near the famous Babylon Sauna complex (10 minute walk) and the Silom Road area is not far with Soi 4 bars and DJ Station.

Clean, cheap, spacious rooms
Always a pleasure to stay here for some nights. The rooms are spacious (one person), have now flat screen TV, bathtube, fresh linen and towels, fridge, aircon, servicable staff. There is a supermarket around the corner, restaurants nearbye and the MRT Lumphini brings you everywhere you like to go. Everything is at your fingertips, perfect!

Petty charges
I booked to stay for 10 days, I had to pay for an internet voucher on top. I wanted to continue writing and researching for my book in the lobby, restaurant or internet room, which they offer as facilities, unfortunately they would not allow me to plug my laptop into an electric supply without charging me for the use of their electricity. They told me I had to go to my room for free electricity, essentially making me a prisoner to my room for 10 days. They also had computers available in the lobby at a rate 10 times more than the internet café in the local area. They asked me at the end If I needed a taxi to the airport, they wanted 600 bht, I picked one up outside on the street for 250 bht. I also wish to mention a previous booking I made 2 months ago for a friend. I booked online, when he arrived all the way from London, they had given his booked room to someone else, my friend had to go to another hotel. I will never stay there again.

Images and reality does not match
This is an old hotel worn out like a used "wh...". THere is nothing wrong with the hotel as such, the images here on Agoda just dont match reality. Good: 24 hour restaurant Staff nice Area is close to many Embassy Bad: No free wifi. expensive - in same area you can get a brand new hotel with free wifi for the same price or even cheaper
