Good hotel overall
Good hotel with friendly staff. Some facilities such as showers were a bit poorly designed. Water often flooded the bathroom. Otherwise 10min walk to city gates, close to all major locations.

One of my favourite places to stay in Chiang Mai
I have stayed at Mandala House about four times in the last 12 months. I have stayed on my own, with my husband and travelling in a group with my Mother and Aunt who are in their late 60s. The rooms are impressively decked out, there is always an en suite, clean sheets, toiletries, wifi and decent air-con. My husband and I love staying here because of the value for money and location, and they have parking. My Mother and Aunt were also super impressed with the accommodation for what we paid. Their bigger rooms that sleep 3 are super impressive. No con's staying here at all.

good hotel some minor shortcomings
Great little hotel, location and staff excellent. Hot water not that good and rooms have a bit of a concrete bunker feel, but otherwise very good. Quiet soy and close to everything

Good Rooms, Ok Pool, Reliable Internet
We've stayed in 4 hotels in Chiang Mai now and I think this one was the best value for the money. The rooms were big with great desk/shelf/closet space. They're a little cold feeling as there was low lighting and a lot of concrete, but to me it felt clean and spacious. The bathroom was one of the cleanest I've had in this price range, and the internet was reliable. The pool is a bit dumpy. On the far side is a room just filled with crap. It has glass doors so you can see it. There isn't a lot of seating either. But it as a pool if you're hot and the rest was good. For the price, it beats similar stuff in the area.

In the old town and close to all
On arrival we were greeted with warmth and with a swift process which after a journey with kids is a relief. The room was spacious and adequate. Yes in some places dated and with some tweaks really nice. But as they say you get what you pay for and value for money it's outstanding. The breakfast was ok and sated our appetites. It's only a short walk in either direction to the old town with Wats galore and in the opposite direction to the old gate and market areas. I must say the market is and beats anything I have seen on my worldly travels. The hotel is set in a quiet area and it did take a bit of exploring the surrounding areas to get a feel for the place. Ask the desk for a map, and booking a taxi from there couldn't be easier. Great for families and individual travelers

Good location and value for money
1) Good and strategic location 2) Value for money 3) Staff nice and helpful however, the breakfast not cheap and very simple and the facilities is very limited. cant say much due to its price rate!! still consider one of the good hotel in Chiang Mai

holiday
OK hotel room could have done with a deeper cleaning. A basic breakfast but tasty, freshly cooked. Good location. Staff friendly and helpful. Bonus of this hotel is the swimming pool. Ideal to cool down.

Quiet location, pleasant space
For the price, this is a good value in Chiang Mai. It's located on a quiet street away from the old town, and has a pleasant little garden you can order a beer or glass of wine in. Our first room smelled of smoke so the staff moved us to a new one, which we were grateful for. The pool could use a cleaning, but it's fine enough for a plunge to cool off. Wouldn't bother eating breakfast at the hotel as it's not great, but there are good options within walking distance.
