Mandarin Plaza Hotel
Check in was a nightmare queuing for ages to get to front desk only two staff at the desk... then cannot get the room for two hours Had to leave luggage in storage.... Even worse checking out had to take our travel bags luggage down to ground floor no assistant available... Badly run not well organised Hotel The free breakfast was a cattle feed with to many people fighting to get the BUFFET STYLE breakfast food --- mostly cold by the time you were able to get some on your plate eg bacon slap cold and hard rice cold, Only scrambled egg and coffee were heated... also not enough seating places , had to walk a mile to get the food to table ... The breakfast was made worse when the air con was set to fridge mode cold air blasted everywhere in the room very uncomfortable arctic conditions... The Pool area was ok although not enough places to sit, The fitness centre had only 1 treadmill so had to wait long time before able to use... Poor management of a potentially good hotel was ruined by penny pinching lack of customer care...

Staff not that friendly as in reviews mentioned. Check-in after 2pm what may not be very convenient for many customers. Swimming pool area very noisy. WiFi working well. Overall stay medium.

GOOD LOCATION AND VALUE FOR MONEY
We stayed here for a night as it was close to the shopping malls... All was good so no complaints

Good but reception service needs improvement
We had to literally line up in the reception for check in and the service was slow! Coming from a long drive we wanted to rest stat! The room was big which was a good .. The bed and pillows were comfortable and bathroom was clean.. Breakfast was so so not really something to look forward to...

Don't waste your time.
Same complaints as other travellers. Slow or broken elevators and useless wifi. I asked for the wifi to be fixed on the day we arrived. They said they would put another router in my room but it took constant calls to their IT department to get it fixed the day before we checked out!! Customer service is shit; they wanted to charge me 100 pesos per towel for an extra towel in the room!! On top of that, we had to contend with the rude and ignorant Koreans who make up the bulk of their clientèle there. The city of Cebu itself is boring, nothing much to do anyway. It was a complete waste of four days and you would do better to bypass this city and go straight to Bohol or Panglao Island. We had a much better time there.
