Great value for money
It's a convenient hotel. All basis things are there plus a nice balcony. Downstairs is an attached restaurant which has nice food. If you don't want special thrills this hotel offers a great value for money.

Not bad, quite good actually
Good aircon, fast wifi, staff pleasant, good size rooms, some English channels on TV + football, plenty of parking spaces, coffee shop attached, 5 minute walk to markets

Very windy in Surin, but can't blame the hotel
Friendly staff, beers on sale in reception, big balcony
All in all I'm very pleased. I am a smoker and needed the balcony for that, and though it was very windy on the front side of the hotel, it was a big balcony that sort of went 90 degrees around the building. And no wind there. Internet worked fine on my balcony. Check out was very quick. A nice small restaurant on the ground floor with additional basic seating outside. Very attentive staff. The location is somewhat off, but it's certainly possible to get transportation if you walk a block or two.

a luxury hotel by budget hotel standards
The room was excellent; WiFi was strong and fast; service was informed and courteous.
I loved this hotel, especially considering the price: The room had glazed granite tile floors, a comfortable (not too hard, not too soft) bed, a desk to work at, a very good shower, a balcony, and solid wifi. The restaurant/coffee shop on premises (with room service) is reasonably priced and convenient, and there is same day laundry if you get it in by 10 AM. The Lonely Planet book calls this hotel "a little out of the way." Well, it's pretty close to the market but a longer walk to the bus station, though easy enough to get back and forth via tuk-tuk (60 baht) or motorbike taxi (40 baht), so I don't have much complaint about that. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable, with enough English if you need it. If I had a single complaint, it's that I would have liked a chair with a back, instead of the hassock-type seat provided, for working at my laptop on the desk. I would go back to this hotel with no hesitation whatever.

Clean, comfortable hotel in Surin town
Price, location, staff
Stayed overnight during this year's elephant round up with a few friends. It was comfortable and affordable with plenty of parking. Staff were lovely. Great value for money considering buffet breakfast was included. Walking distance to the local night market.

The best valued gem.
Fantastic room for the price, probably best value in Thailand. The food in the restaurant was great overall, and very reasonably priced. The location was reasonably central.
Service with a smile. English was a challenge to the staff however. Rooms are fantastic, but would be happier if they had flat screen TV instead of the old CRT boxes. All the power including refrigerator turn off when leaving the room. Not good if you want to return to a cold drink from the fridge. For 450-500 baht a night, haven't seen better value for money in Thailand. Most of the meals are 9/10 quality and reasonable pricing. Some are too cheap, but minus the fillings ie- fried rice with pork or chicken at 45 baht. Overall was great, and would definitely return again. Booked originally for 3 nights and extended for a further 3 nights. A five minute walk to the night food market, and 10-15 minute walk to bus station or train station.

Very disappointed
spacious room, balcony
Very disappointing. I chose this hotel because although the price was inflated for the annual elephant roundup, this hotel advertised tickets included. When we arrived, they told us that the ticket was not included. We paid twice the normal price without tickets and had to pay for tickets again separately. The staff talked down to us when we asked for tickets and treated us badly. We paid the price of the tickets. These tickets were not the best and cost 1/3 again the price of the hotel. It felt like false advertising. Five lady teachers went on this 7 hr journey to go to the roundup to stay here on my account. Next time, I will book a different hotel.
