For the price this was one of the best places we stayed at in Sri Lanka. It was difficult to find but with a sign at the bottom of street it will help. Only 2 rooms so it is quite and the other people staying there were lovely. It rained while we were there and unlike other accommodation, it was not damp.

The Mango House by Uma was clean and comfortable. It sits elevated and the drive to the hotel is a nice walk. It's steep but it was nice to get the exercise. The tuk-tuk is able to proived transportation from the house if you would like, I enjoyed the walk. There is some nice shoping especially the Batik studion on the way to the elephaunt orphanage. Also ask to see the bat tree's, (flying foxes" and the war cemetary. There is also some nice furnature workshops and the tuk-tuk driver can take you there as well. My only reservation was the mosquitos got into the room and the little guys have a way of iritation you throughout the evening. Also, the water pressure in the shower could use improvement. I do recommend this for comfort and cleanliness.

Almost no access to Internet. I had to ask the owner living in another building to use his WIFI but I was told not to bother him after 8PM when he goes to bed. Not even tuck tuck driver knew the place. No lights on the road through jungle about 300 m long. Especially annoying in the night or if you want to catch the morning first class train to Colombo.

Directions
If your traveling from Colombo to Kandy ask from anyone where bola palliya is(dome church) once you reach Peradeniya road. When you pass the said church, just 10 meters further you will see the Fred Silva avenue sign board on the left hand side. Mango house by Uma is 500m away from the sign board 'Fred Silva Avenue' and it's the one before the last bungalow
