this place has gone to the dumps.
the air conditioner was not operating correctly, the third bed was a mattress on the floor, there were tiny ants everywhere and the staff were not interested in any problems, let alone solving them.

Scary
Stayed here a few years ago and good value. The place has certainly gone downhill. In 40+ heat, the staff couldn't be bothered to fix the aircon and wouldn't move us to another room - although they were only about 10% full. Left early for a tidier place with working aircon and at a lower cost. Seriously poor value in low season!

Happy to have had no expectations
Previous reviews were pretty accurate. Place is run down, carpets are old and need changing and "balcony/terrace" is where they have the air conditioning so you can't actually stand out on it. It was fine for two nights and if you have no intention of hanging out in the room. Plus side-nice view.

Nice older guesthouse hotel
Aside from the rooms being a little musty, this is a nice enough hotel with a good restaurant, good staff and some rooms overlook the temple. I would stay here again.

Budget hotel in the backpacker area of Bangkok
location, staff,
I liked this hotel quite a bit. If you like Kao San road, this place will be perfect for your stay. One of the receptionists is really friendly. The reported problems with stealing are probably scams, according to the discussions I had with the staff. Khao San road is a total tourist/backpacker area. You will find more Westerners than Thais here... Maybe that's your thing, but it isn't mine. The athmosphere doesn't feel like Thailand, but more like a Spanish island. So be aware of that.

Great for stopovers
Location, price, restaurant
Positive: - Good value for money - Comfortable bed - English TV channels - 24 hours reception service - Restaurant's food is tasty Negative: - No fridge - Can be noisy at times - No elevator, which is bad if you have heavy luggage and get a room on the upper levels

Bad service
Good location, cheap hotel, quite room.
I stayed in 3 hotels in Bangkok, this is the worst. Very bad service. Good location, right in the heart of Khaosan.

Great location
Please dont expect too much given the price and the location. It will give u your very basic needs. Price was fair. Make sure you bring bathroom slippers, they have wet style bathrooms where theres no separator for the shower
