A Few Days in the Jungle

The owners and staff and location.
Enjoyed an excellent week there viewing wildlife from the river and walking in the forest, hoping to have some good photographs from my stay.

Food was fantastic, location was great. We stayed there for 3nights, very relaxing in beautiful surroundings. Right on the river, 10 mins from the beach. The beach is not sandy, it's made from small Quartz pebbles. Nobody there except us and the village kids. Go see the fishing village, lots of genuine smiles. Be aware that this is an Eco lodge, not a resort. Apart from the beach and the village there.s nothing there. If you want to relax and enjoy nature this is the place. It,s not suitable for children, the water was too rough for swimming and there's nothing for them to do.

for the nature lover

wilderness comfort; cute puppies on site; fresh coconuts
This is the place for those who want some greenery, but the comfort of a bed. It's away from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Princessa and the sandy beaches of El Nido. Embrace your inner tree-hugger!

Very clean, Amazing hospitality, Great location
I spent the entire month of January on Palawan. 2 weeks in El Nido and 2 weeks in Mangrove. This being my first trip to the Philippines, It was quite an adventure traveling alone. I didn't experience any of the "horror stories" that I was warned about from the other guys in my shop. I was welcomed with the warmest greeting I have gotten from a hotel. He gave me a tour of the fishing village which I loved going to. That night for dinner I was asked if I wanted these huge shrimp (ones that I still can't get over how big them suckers are) or a crab that was kicking the air in a useless attempt to escape. The choice was easy, the crab had to be put out of its misery, and it was amazing. The room I stayed in was the double queen bungalow. There was no mosquito net as the room is sealed and has a hot shower. The whole resort is very clean, and it's quiet. There is no town noise as you're not really in a town or anything. No it's not on a beach, but it’s a short walk to it; however, it is right next to an incredible river. My first trip down the river was an experience unlike any other. The river is very calm, it was over cast and raining in the distance. I listened to the monkeys and birds as I paddled as quietly as I could. All in all, It well exceeded my expectations. I felt as if I became part of their family. From Karaoke to days at the beach or chilling at the resort, they made sure I was having a good time. This place was the perfect spot to recharge my drained batteries. So now I'm planning next years trip and I most defiantly will be returning to Mangrove Resort.

our honeymoon at mangrove resort at langogan

sevice was excellent and friendly.menu was very good especially the fresh seafood.hospitality was great .they make you feel welcome and are so helpful helping you to arrange your activities
This was a great time .we enjoyed our honeymoon .and even tho you have to travel some distances eg. Underground river , you travell buy bus everywhere.catch bike to the bus terminal from the airport it will cost you 100 pesos and a bus to mangrove resort angogan it will cost you 70 pesos per person.don't make my mistake and catch a taxi van ...3000 pesos. We traveled everywhere by bus, it's cheap if you dont mind Ruffing it.as I said we had the best time and Clyde and his wife are beautiful people..do the fishing boat trip.it's an eye opener and safe and the underground river is a must.We will be back.

Amazing Place, Nature, Community and Host

Atmosphere, Activities, Location
We had a wonderful time. The accommodation was exactly what we look for - a relaxing environment, private space, cozy areas permitting one to think, read, watch and just rest. We also loved the activities we did: boating/fishing/eating, kayaking up the river was spectacular and we also stopped and read, napped along the river, private beach trips were inexpensive and amazing. Food was fantastic. We had fresh fish, crab and fruit/veggies. As importantly we went into the small village and played volleyball, watched nightly basketball, and hung out with the friendly locals. It was all encouraged and supported by a very gracious, funny and intelligent host!!! Def stop here. We did and we stayed the rest of our trip about five nights in total. BTW flights to and from manila to puerta are almost guaranteed to be cancelled, especially if you leave from either at night.

Owners, Athmosphere and unique
This place is something you will remember. Something different from elsewhere you go in Palawan. Awesome owner - Claude that always assisted and gave his great comments. He and the staff was one of a kind. Made our stay even better. A clean and nice little pearl in the mangrove where all the guests seemed to have a great time together. Strongly recommend stopping over a few days on the way up or down from El Nido. Jens

Very good food but chemical toilet smell was too m

Food, staff, nature.
Need to work on the chemical toilet odor, pretty overbearing. The food was excellent along with the staff. Need to work on the dog barking issue also. Did not sleep well.

Amazing stay!!

location, price, food
We stayed at the Mangrove Resort for two night and they were amazing! The resort is located on the beautiful Langogan River. We had a great time paddling along the river during the day and eating some great food at night. We would definitely recommend staying here if your looking for something a little more quiet and secluded.
