Not satisfying
Room is cheap and very basic. Food is expensive. Not worth it. I tried their included breakfast worth 300 which consist of sorry hotdogs, ham, eggs, more eggs, rice and a clear soup. That's it. I disn't even eat it bec i gave 2 hotdogs to my toddler and the food attendant insists that i pay for him.. Huwaat? I left without eating any. You'll be sorry to stay here.. At the price it is not worth it. Only consolation is the location, if not for considering the hospital nearby, we wouldn't stay here.

Good was great, bad was bad

Staff performance, room comfort, cleanliness
The room was cozy and the AC unit cooled the room in a hurry. There was a noise issue as the room's unit and the unit mounted outside on the wall were both a touch noisy. Buffet breakfast was lackluster but worth the money if you like old rice and cold eggs. Eggs to order is the way to go. Pool was decent and open 24 hours and when the sauna room was turned off, the staff would turn it on for you upon request. Downsides: the wifi password changes daily and you have to call down or walk down to get it. Nice if they delivered it. The phone system is a mess. The numbers posted in the room are inaccurate and you can not make calls late at night. The "operator" goes home. One staff would let me use her cell to make a late night call. The massage service is outsourced and while the prices are reasonable, it is only available from 5:00pm to 2:00am. When booking I was told "not available tonight", 15 minutes later, I was informed "the massage service is here". Better to book ahead for a time the day before. The restaurant serves shark fin soup. I would not spend another dime supporting a restaurant that promotes such a barbaric practice. The casino is all slots and bacarat. There is video roulette but it is a great casino. On top of that, they do not accept $50 US bills, only 100's. Even at their money exchange they will offer a different rate for 50's versus 100's. The stay was nice but I would not call it a three star hotel. I would call it two stars. Stay there again, yes, but I would not eat there.

3 star hotel

location, helpful staff, pool area
Stay was good, Manila grand opera hotel is the only 3 star hotel in the area that has a swimming pool perfect for the manila heat. Close to chinatown and other attractions in old manila. The only downside is the area is very traffic and the area can be dangerous.
