9 day stay.

welcome smile and attention from KC and HENNESY in breakfast room.. BREAKFAST ROOM STAFF WORK HARD.
stayed on garden side..workers on new building going up on this side of the hotel still working THROUGH THE NIGHT. loud music from RIZAL PARK pa system at 05.30. small holes in quilt cover and bed sheet. towels need replacing as wearing.toilet seat lose on one side. (room 1630)and why do so many people coming back in the evenings slam their bedroom doors? speak so loud in the corridors? and we found one front door greeter in 9 days that smiled and welcomed us.but most of all do not sit in the vacant seat behind the desk in lobby where you will never see a duty manager sit. you will be asked to get up and move..

Not a four star at all.

Location, security, and decent city view.
Upon arrival there was no staff to assist with the luggage. It appears the bell staff were in short supply and the one or two I saw were assisting other guests. While checking in it appears as if a manager was training a newer staff member so basically that was a slow and tedious process. The manager then requested a security deposit despite my having a prepaid booking. When I refused she appeared to get annoyed. She became flummoxed and appeared to call a higher level manager for advice. The higher level manager apparently informed her to proceed with the check in and give me my room key which she did with a strained expression. The room was nice, airy and tastefully decorated. The hotel provides two complimentary bottles of water daily which is generally standard in the industry for that level of hotel. The key is you must REQUEST it which one one occasion we forgot. The bathroom however had signs of a recently repaired ceiling which was peeling and partially dangling. The water in the sink/shower took approximately 20+ minutes to get hot. The television set was a modern flatscreen with good video and audio capability however approximately 80% of all channels were scrambled and could not be viewed. Breakfast was an interesting experience in that in order to enter the dining facility which we had to find ourselves we approached a hostess waiting at a podium. She asked for our room number, looked it up on a master sheet and then requested we fill out a little slip of paper to avail of this paid for amenity. The food offered appeared to be adequate with limitations on choice as well as quantity as often items ran out. We availed of breakfast generally between 9AM-9:30 whereas it closes at 10:30. It was a good touch that they had smoking as well as nonsmoking dining facets as the hotel has NO smoking rooms which was a bit of a bummer.

Great value and convenient location

Staff service, location, and room
Very good. The first time I stayed at this hotel was in 1974, when it was the Manila Hilton. It is even better now. The pool area should be renovated.
