home away from home

nice staff
Staying here would be my parents’ second time and my first. The owner of the hotel takes good care of us. He let us stay on the second floor upgrading our room to a family room that is good for 3 persons. A very simple but clean type of accommodation, well given the price of the room, it is really (sulit) or worth the money. Room size is enough for 3 persons. Danggit breakfast (dried fish) was the main highlight of the stay. Eventually I was forced to buy a lot of frozen ones to bring it as a pasalubong (gifts) to my relatives. The hotel is really clean and well managed by the owner and staff of the establishment. We were sent back to the hotel by the driver named “bhebot”. I have known that he has been working with the owners more than a decade. He is very accommodating and a very down to earth type of person. He is the person I remember the most. I would definitely choose Marianne again as our accommodation in Palawan.

right price

price and cleanliness and wifi
This is my first time in Puerto Princesa City Palawan. The internet connection of this lovely place is fast enough to make a skype call to my friends abroad. The place is very comfortable, very peaceful. I have slept so peacefully that I have missed the breakfast time. Good thing, one of the chefs allowed me to have breakfast personalized. A plus point for Marianne hotel, indeed! The housekeeping always happy to serve wearing a smiling face all the time I bumped into one. This is my graduation gift to myself and I would say that this is one of the best gifts I had. Price is very affordable not very high. Just right!

Not a nice experience, we are not coming back

Room size is appropriate
We booked here for just one night before our flight back to Manila. Coming from a tiring six hour ride in a van from El Nido we were not pleased that the streets going to the hotel was extremely chaotic- a market place! Unruly tricycles, jeepneys, people were all over the place. I overlooked this detail when I was looking for a place to make a reservation. We decided not to go out anymore for dinner and ordered food for delivery instead. We were not able to eat the breakfast they serve, it was not acceptable. Cold stiff fried eggs, plain rice- which has poor quality, like the cheap variety of rice and the dangit (dried fish) on our plates which are supposed to be crunchy were like rubber. When I complained to the staff she told us that the eggs were freshly cooked and the dried fish is really supposed to be like that- rubbery becaused its the fresh variety, not dried. The hotel should improve the breakfast they serve or not serve breakfast at all. By the way, the cream packets they serve during breakfast needs to be checked, the packaging I think is not done well, the coffee cream packets we opened were stiff and hard so we ended up not having coffee as well.
