The wedding

Staff pool and gardens
This is the second time we have stayed here the staff grounds and pool are great. Rooms are ok could have more options on the TV and could be cleaner. Will recommend to people looking in this location think the new rooms out the back are great. And the gardens as always are beautiful the reason we stayed here this time was because our friends got married in the garden where they meet. The staff where amazing on the day of the wedding making sure everything was perfect

Matahari Bungalows

Pool, location, rooms
Great place to stay if you like to be in a central location. The hotel is close to shopping, dining and drinking but is set back off the road so it's also nice a quiet. The rooms were clean and comfortable, pool was fantastic and the staff were all lovely. The only thing I could suggest is maybe an upgrade of the pool seating but otherwise a great value hotel!

room was comfortable and pool area was very nice and clean. The garden is very well maintained
I stayed for 11 nights and overall enjoyed it. I found the hotel very quiet not a lot of people around. The pool area was amazing however they could work on a happy hour with drink specials that could see more people spend time around the pool area and bar. Breakfast was extremely boring could only choose from the same 2 choices everyday. The rooms could use a little more attention when being cleaned. (For example our cups never got cleaned or replaced basically the bed was made and the floor mopped and that's all) wifi was very reliable I didn't once have any problems with connection. Other than the few things I have picked on I enjoyed my stay however probably would not stay here again just due to value for money isn't really there at this hotel.

I'd stay there again

Location, staff, swim up bar
I would stay at this hotel again, situated on Legian Road Kuta, not too far away from the nightclubs but far enough away you don't hear it, where my room was it was quiet didn't hear much noise at all.

Not where I'd go again

Far enough off street so traffic noise was muted, pool was nice
Didn't like getting charged extra for sitting at the pool bar. Rooms need paint like most of Indonesia. The Hotel clerk couldn't make change when I checked out though it was only a few dollars worth. Air conditioning unit was VERY noisy at night for some reason.

Bad Experiance

Matahari Bungalow Hotel
We arrived at the Hotel 1hour early to check-in. My husband Wayne was extremely sick from his flight to Bali, the reception staff were not obliging to us. I understand that you sometimes have to wait till your room is ready but considering Bali was very quiet and most hotel weren't even full. They finally moved us to our room which was the top floor this was really hard as my husband was so sick. We got into our room my husband needed a shower the water pressure was shocking the toilet didn't work and my husband also scolded himself in the shower as the cold water would stop. The fridge was hot, there was no toiletries no coffee no tea just a kettle. I went down stairs to ask to be moved and they wouldn't help us, so I went back up stair to check on my husband, they had mopped the tilled stairs I nearly fell over. They told me there is not English language TV, by this time I had enough of this Hotel, I went back down to be moved and I was told still no maybe the next day. We stayed in this Hotel for a total of 5 hours instead of the 5 days I booked it for. I could a friend in Bali to come and pick us up and take us to another Hotel which cost us $175.00 per night just so that my husband and myself were comfortable. I asked for my money back but I was told no. I would never recommend this Hotel to anyone. Carol Matsen
