Bad reservation policy

I'm just mad because I reserved 3 days with them and checked in for the first night and told them I was only going to be there one night because my plans had changed. They spoke hardly any English but the clerk told me that would be fine and marked my reservation paper with the new check out date. Anyway, that isn't what happened. Neither Agoda or the hotel would refund the money I paid for in full at the time I made the booking. And this is in spite of an agent we have in Phnom Penh who changed the arrangement for three others I was travelling with, but without a reservation. There is more to the story, but both this hotel and Agoda are off my list of hotel providers. And, as Agoda said to me, hope you have a nice day.

the hotel is overated. It is dirty.

Our stays ( unfortunately there were 2 of them ) were extremely disappointing. the hotel was dirty and the staff did not seem to care. Breakfast was barely edible. we do not know to this day who was doing the cooking ( cleaning staff perhaps ) as the food was of a very poor quality and standard. It is overvalued for what you are getting for your money. Three star hotel, certainly not. Maybe one star but they would have to improve tremendously in order to earn it.

sacrificing quality rooms for future apartments

Chose because of previous stay. This time wasn't anywhere near as good as last time 1 yr ago. Mostly NGO and business guests at this hotel. Noticed a big reduction in cleaning staff, so hotel is putting its resources into developing apartments (work underway) and not into maintaining rooms in the way I'd found before. Day to day cleaning is okay, but rooms are dusty from construction around, and just grimey. Breakfast is basic. If you're happy with omelette and baguette with some fruit, you'll be fine. Lots of guesthouses in the immediate area, as well as hotels, so could easily give this one a pass. Have to commend the staff. They were great to us when dealing with travel challenges and late night arrival and late checkout.
