No luxury, not exceptional: functional yes
Very ugly building, like a socialist block. Very good view over St Mary Redcliffe. Good location. Good internet. Quiet property. Very dull formulaic breakfast to be avoided. Functional rooms with no frills. Cant open the windows of most rooms, have to rely on air con. Spa means over-priced girly cosmetic treatments, nothing like a decent steam room/sauna/wet area. In short: a typical Mercure property: dull, functional, hard. The French don'd do warm, cosy, quaint, gemutlich: they require bland corporate socialism. I think most corporate dullards will like this place. I didn't.

The decor throughout the lobby, restaurant and rooms was beautiful. The fastest hotel wifi I have ever used! The staff were all so lovely. Excellent location with a quick stroll to the restaurants around the harbourside and close to Temple Meads train station. Only downside the optional breakfast was overpriced for the quality of food

Proximity to the city centre; early check-in; great housekeeping staff.
A very average hotel with little to set it apart from the crowd. Given that the room had no opening windows, it was extremely stuffy and uncomfortable at night (even with the air con rattling, huffing and puffing away constantly).

We had a lovely stay in the hotel. Nice reception lovely room huge bed and quiet. Within walking distance to city centre. We did not use the swimming pool but we were not told on arrival what the set up was. Bit disappointed that we had to pay for parking in the hotel car park. It was 2.50 per house or flat rate of 12 for over night stay. Saying that we were allowed leave our car in the car park after we had checked out for a couple of hours. Only other little quibble was one one set of toiletries for two people. Not enough for four showers. No hairdryer. We did not dine in the hotel so can't comment on that. Small grips in what was a lovely hotel and stay.
