The converted windmill still retains its original feature, with a functioning water wheel you can relax and watch while it trickles. From the hotel, Perth's city center is only a short stop away, while other interesting sites include the Scone Palace, where the Douglas fir was introduced, and the Branklyn Garden - a two-acre, private botanical heaven. The guestrooms at the Mercure Perth Hotel are decked out with a contemporary design and equipped with facilities to give you the most comfortable stay.

Very comfortable, staff excellent.

Location, clean & friendly helpful staff
The only gripe I have is the bar + food is expensive, on the plus side the hotel is central therefore plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from nearby.

O but nothing special

Location, free Wifi, Price
The stay was ok, i use hotels regularly and this one was not the worst. unfortunately the walls are paper thin so a not good for a good night sleep, they have a hotel TV system rahter than a basic freeview so you have to go through a hundred menues to get to a limited amount of chanels

Very nice hotel and friendly staff.

Location and friendly staff.
We had a very nice stay with good sized clean rooms and very friendly helpful staff. The location of the hotel is central which is great for access to shops, eating places and public transport if required.Only downside of hotel is food and drink prices expensive though nobody forces you to eat and drink in hotel.Italian tourists in a 4x4 who seem to be regulars also seemed to think they could just park where they liked in the car park and this was an annoyence as they abandoned their vehicle when there was no spaces causing numerous other cars to be blocked in with staff not appearing to challenge them.

Nice hotel in center of town

Water running below lobby harkening to former use ad a mill
Hotel in nice location for walking around town. Staff helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable with nice bedding. While my stay was very comfortable due to the cool weather, but I worry about hot summer days when the window can be opened only an inch or so and there is no air conditioning.

Very nice hotel and good service

Hotel is built on an old mill site and you can stand and look down at the water through glass in reception
Hotel is right in the heart of the city within walking distance of all amenities. Room was large and airy with huge bed. Flat screen TV was easily used and also Internet and extra films were available at a small extra cost. Wi-Fi was available in the lounge but room we were in could pick up the Wi-Fi signal so we could use our laptop in the room. Lovely full Scottish buffet breakfast in morning set you up for day ahead. Only problem was that no hot water came from bath tap and manager offered us another room but we declined this and said a shower would do us fine. All in all a nice stay.

Getting to the hotel is simple. If you are traveling from Edinburgh, when leaving the motorway on the outskirts of Perth, follow signs for Perth City Centre. Go straight on at the first set of traffic lights (Tesco Superstore on the right). At the next set of traffic lights, turn left into Marshall Place. Take the fourth road on the right into King Street and go straight through the first set of lights into South Methven Street. Go straight through the next set of lights into North Methven Street. Take first left into West Mill Street and the hotel is on the right hand side. If you are traveling from Glasgow, from the Broxden roundabout on the outskirts of Perth, take the second left and follow signs for Perth City Centre. Go straight on at the next roundabout (Dewars Ice Rink on the right hand side). Take a left at the next set of traffic lights (Iceland Frozen Foods on the right) into Caledonian Road. Turn right at the first set of lights into Old High Street and the hotel is first on the left by the N.C.P car park. If you are traveling from Aberdeen, turn into Perth Bridge (which is the second bridge if coming from Dundee and the first bridge if coming down past Scone). This takes you into Charlotte Street and Atholl Street. Turn left at the second set of traffic lights in Atholl Street and then into North Methven Street. Take the second right into West Mill Street and the hotel is situated on the right hand side.
