Great value for money!
Ideally located right in the heart of the city! It was really close to everything! It had its own gaming area which is something you don't often see
Really good! The room was cosy and perfect size for a solo traveler. The hotel was in the most perfect location, close to EVERYTHING. The only downfall was their food. I've never had a breakfast I didn't like but the Mercure Welcome Melbourne fulfilled that... the food was SO BLAND and not appealing at all. The bacon was dry and tasteless, even the mushrooms didn't taste normal. Regardless I will be staying at this hotel again, but not to eat there

Rooms next to lifts!
Location, staff friendliness, cleanliness
Unfortunately I am a light sleeper. We were given room 921 which was next to the lifts - there was noise from the lift well all through the night. Also, found noise levels from room opposite unbelievable. They had a phone alarm going off from 5.30am for at least half an hour, meanwhile they had their TV blaring. My husband got so frustrated he stood in the hallway and shouted for them to turn it down. With modern hotels room sound-proofing is usually of a better standard. The person in an adjoining room also had a cough which was heard frequently, AND CLEARLY, within our room. Never found such intrusive noises from nearby rooms in all our years of travel in Australia and overseas.
