Wonderful experience!
The location, food, receptionist are excellent. Other staff need to learn to do customer service.

A vintage hotel
Good location, vintage style, good view
This hotel is near the gate of the wall and is located in the center of Mont. St. Michel. The room has very good view to see the tires and the breakfast is nice.

One of the worlds great hotels
Location, Food, Ambiance
Outside our room was a plaque with a testimony from Ernest Hemingway who stayed here when the hotel was commandeered during the war for troop housing. This is an amazing place with over the top history. We were right on the island of Mont St Michel and it was impressive. We had lots of time to see the Abey and walk the shore. And the food was great. After a number of lackluster meals in France (some of which I am sure were microwaved frozen) the Mere Polard restaurant was a real treat. The famous omlets are real. If you really want value for your money and to live the history then stay here. Although we found some other really good hotels in France, this was the icing on the cake. The environment, the history, the service, and the food made the Mere Polard stand out alone.

Wonderful, surprising, inspiring, historic
Location ON Mt. St Michel and integrated right into the historic city; gourmet restaurant on the first floor; incredible history of the building istelf and namesake
Wonderful, we only wish it had been longer! The 3rd floor door straight onto the ramparts of the fortress and the paths of the town was truly a gateway to magic for us, we found we had the whole town and mountain to ourselves as we explored for three hours late in the evening. Amazing.

Historical Hotel on Mont St Michel
Large room; Located on the island; Renown restaurant attached
It was enjoyable staying in Mere Poulard. The room was large and well-equipped with amenities including the WiFi. The location is perfect to explore Mont St. Michel especially if you intend to do so first thing in the morning when the crowd is sparser and you do no need to worry about the tides preventing entry into the island. The downside is the lack of lifts (so you will have to carry your own luggage up 3 flights of stairs at least), and the really expensive, but renown, restaurant of the same name.

Disappointed
Location was great. Bathroom was large. Staff was helpful.
I had been SO looking forward to this trip. I had booked the room four months ahead- didn't get a view and got the wrong room type. Bought the bed and breakfast- the omelet is not cooked at breakfast (and is REALLY over rated- 51 USD for an omelet). It is beautiful there, but I would go late afternoon and leave pretty early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

we loved the hotel for it's charm and history.
view, location and charm made it a fascinating stay
We felt the dinner was way over priced for what we received. We paid for a very simple omelet which was nothing more than baked foam with very little taste. The salad that came with it consisted of about 10 small lettuce leaves. Needless to say we felt totally ripped off by our dinner experience
