Good room, awful treatment by staff
I stayed in one of these apartment-type spaces and generally, the place was great - big, awesome view, two bathrooms, decent value etc. However, I had a very negative experience with the staff. When I arrived at about 1.30pm and collected my key card, I went to the room and found it completely trashed. The people staying previously had created a huge mess, food mess everywhere, and it hadn't been cleaned. I went back down and told the staff, who asked me to wait for ten minutes while it was cleaned. I said that it would take a lot longer than ten minutes and asked them to give me a different room as I had to go to a meeting. I was told there were none available and told to wait again, no apology. Of course, it took longer than ten minutes to clean - more like 45. At one point a staffer told me it was ready, so I went back up to the room, but it was still being cleaned, nowhere near ready, so I had to go back down and wait yet again. When it was finally cleaned I went in, and found the kitchen floor had some kind of substance on it - probably some kind of cleaning fluid - that caused me to make oily footprints all over the apartment. There was also a whole eggshell left on the floor, presumably due to the rush clean. Net result: I was late for the meeting I had travelled to Guangzhou for. My Chinese language skills are bad, but there was really no excuse for at least offering an apology for me having to head into a repulsive, trashed room and then not be offered a quick room change. The staff seemed to find my mild annoyance funny, and were more interested in playing on their phones. I've found service standards to be generally poor in many Chinese hotels, but even considering that this was a very poor way to handle things. It's a shame because the apartment was great, overall - really cool view, really spacious, facilities did the job. If they had simply apologised and cleaned the kitchen slightly better I would have had no issue. Having said this, I think my

Great location poor cleanliness
The hotel is located in the center of Tianhe area. Close to the mall and the MTR. The room is of a good size with one room below and another room above. Cleanliness is an issue as we found smelly towels and stained bedsheets. The room has washing machine (smelly on the first wash) and small pantry/kitchen area.

Great location poor cleanliness
The hotel is located at the center of Tianhe area. Easy to walk around to the mall and MTR. But the entrance is hidden, taxi must stop at Marriott Hotel lobby. The room is a good size, however the bathroom was disappointing on the 3 bed duplex, room no. 3214, there's 1 shower bathroom only, the other bathroom only contained toilet bowl and washtable, and the glass door was put wrongly, the side with the shower head was not covered, so water was spraying all over the toilet bowl area and all over the floor on the supposed dry area. Towels were smelly and we found one already had holes on it. Bedsheets had stained on it. Overall cleanliness was not so great, found and killed 2 small cockroaches while there near the kitchen sink. The location and price were the winning value on this one.

Rough around the edges.
This property has all the potential to be a good hotel but in reality it is shabby. It's hard to find for starters, you have to go up to the 23rd floor of a random building. In my apartment the curtains were half off their rails, the toilet in the second bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned. There was no hand towel in the bathroom connected to the main living area. The shower drainage was poor and almost flooded even when I was taking a short shower. There is a kitchen in the apartment but no dishes or cutlery. Likewise there is a clothes washer but no dryer and nowhere to dry your clothes. The television didn't work, the second television didn't have a remote. There was no means of locking the front door from the interior. All in all, a relatively modern apartment which looks completely run-down. Not worth the money I paid, I stayed in much nicer places in China at half the price. Not recommended.
