Although I had stayed in several Jerusalem hotels before, I was concerned about staying in this one. It is close to the Central Bus Station, an area with which I was unfamiliar, and it used to be a run-down looking place. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a clean room and a desk clerk who was able and willing to answer all my questions in Hebrew, Russian and English. I will certainly consider staying here again, particularly if I have to do intercity travel within Israel.

Descent Hotel - Could be cleaner

This recently renovated hotel (within the last 2 years) was well located and fairly priced. the rooms were generous in size with modern decor and nice bathrooms. The staff was ok but not stellar and the food in the main dining room left something to be desired. The hotel is nice right now but sub-par cleaning will likely take this establishment down hill in the next 18-36 months. The new LRT line stops just outside and runs along Jaffa to many useful places including the old city making this budget priced hotel a good option for someone who is looking for a large comfortable well air-conditioned room and does not plan to spend their entire stay in the old city. 2 blocks from the central bus station, easy walk to the shuk and Ben Yehuda and lots of restaurants and shops. The roof top pool was very nice as well on hot days.
Restaurant Tip:
for a quick bite, stop in at the bus terminal mall. There is a wide selection of food court style eateries and a few good bakeries inside.

cette hotel est cache dans une contre allée et pas simple d'access. l'acceuil est a revoir, le personnel n'ai pas aimable, pour obtenir quelque chose nous devons insister a plusieurs reprise.

רעש במסדרונות של צוות המלון מוקדם בבוקר. מיטות יחיד מאד קטנות עם מזרון פשוט ולא איכותי.

персонал профессиональный и приветливый. многие знают английский и русский. завтрак был весьма разнообразен и вкусен. номер уютный и чистый (правда сейф не работал) ;-) для отеля на 4 звезды очень неплох :-) на рецепции снабдили (без напоминания) картой города и даже путеводителем на английском. есть ресторан. в номере lcd паннель 37 см с большим количеством каналов в том числе и русскими.
главная проблема: необоснованная стоимость итернета предоставляемого через wifi.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Интерент должен быть бесплатным! А не стоить 5$ за час !!!
Лучше на время пребывания в стране приобрести симку Orange и купить пакет на 5GB за 100 шекелей (800 руб) мне на неделю хватило за глаза, но под конец успел выкачать ;-)
